ID question

I am planning a trip to las vegas April 14-19. With that being said, I turn 21 April 9th and my buddy turns 21 April 14. The issue I want to bring at hand is that Turning 21 so close to the trip date, we wont be able to get our NEW ID's that state we are 21 on them. We will have our clipped ID's(that have our pictures on it) along with our DMV papers and receipt to show that everything is in order. So it does state that our birthdays are on the 9th and 14th of April. Will this be an issue? Also have passports to if that works better, just wanted to make sure there wouldnt be an issue. Unfortunately in MN they do not have an expedited way to get us our ID's on or before our birthdays. This isnt an issue in Minnesota as long as you have the papers with the clipped ID, so I want to make certain all this will be okay.

Wont be an issue. As long as it has your birthdate and picture you are good to go.

I would bring your passport though. A back up ID is ALWAYS recommended no matter how old you are.

Thanks. So will they even look at the DMV papers along with the clipped ID? I figure that would just be a hassle at the door. I got confused though because Tony paoli told me it would be an issue all around town if i didnt have my new ID which would be impossible to get by the trip date..

I've never seen a clipped ID before, but I don't know why it would be an issue if its a valid ID unless it expires on your bdays which makes them invalid?

They clip the ID's in minnesota because they expire the day of your 21st birthday, which in my case is April 9th 2010. I will be renewing my ID at the DMV, so I will have a clipped ID with papers are the temporary ID the old ID is there to serve as photo Identification, the problem is that new ID's take weeks to come. MN law is lame..

Does anyone know if passports will work all around town? not looking to have a failed trip haha..

YES. Its better than a state ID. Its a federal document. State IDs are questioned a lot more.

Great, thank you. Quick question.. at rehab/wet republic do they have any place for you to put your passport after getting in..?

you can bring a backpack in wet, which I recommend. Rehab they check your bag, and give you a clear plastic bag (for a charge). other than that I think your SOL

any issues with stuff being stolen? haha... Im assuming yes. Does anyone bring cash with them then or just cards mainly.

never had anything stolen. one person was usually with the bag most of the time. At Rehab, we were in a secluded area, so it wasnt a big deal. Otherwise I would of kept an eye on it. At wet you can pretty much see your stuff from anywhere.

I would bring your old ID, your "clipped" id whatever that is and your passport and the bouncer will probably let the expired ID thing pass. Good luck taking care of that stuff when you just turned 21 and set loose in Vegas, you and your buddy are going to be messed up!!!!!!! Gaurd that Id with your life......
