Wearing Vans

More and more I've been noticing guys getting away with wearing vans to a club. Specifically I'm talking about Tao, XS, LAX.

I've never been bold enough to do this, but it is in line with my style to wear vans dressed up with sportscoat etc.

Should I chance it? Are those guys getting away with it because they have bottle service or connections? Can I just guest list and still be bold enough to wear vans?

Ive worn my chucks to most clubs. Theres never a guarantee unless you have bottle service. Bottle service is probably a 99% success rate.

It really depends on the bouncer if your a guy.

i think LAX would be no issue..
But I wouldn't chance it at Tao. I saw some guy arguing with the bouncer, they wouldn't let him in cause he had laces on his dress shoes.

XS might be okay.. but i wouldn't chance it on a busy night.. cause they probaby look for any excuse to not let guys in.

I do too.... well maybe not as good as you but at the same time you've got that whole metro thing going. But I also make sure I have my dress shoes, dress pants and nice shirts. Figure if I wanted to dress more casual I can just hit a club where I live.... plus I like lookin fly!

Example: My best friend and I went to tao on thurday night, i was wearing flip flops, a tank top and jeans with no make up and my hair up. He wore chucks, jeans, a tee and a hat and we walked right in BUT we are industry so thats why we can get away with doing that every week.

If they are not industry then they either have a table or come out all the time.

As long as you where black shoes you should be fine on a non busy or industry night. Dont attempt it on a fri or sat.

This is your answer. If you have to wait in the general line because you don't have a connect to get you in (and aren't industry or tipping for that luxury) then you probably shouldn't chance it . Standing in a line and getting turned down at the door is a terrible waste of your Vegas time.

I'm not industry and only visit 1-2 times a year, but i've walked in quite a few places with chucks, jeans, and a tee. I've also either had a table or tipped nicely to make my way in. The connections from this site made it much easier than my trips before coming here.

Another part of this that I don't think has been mentioned is confidence. If you come in like you're somebody and the door feels it you have a better chance of success. If you walk up underdressed looking like you're scared or you just don't belong there, you might be out of luck.

Bottom line is, if you don't feel comfortable, trust your instinct and throw some dress shoes on. If you feel like it's happening, run with it. Either way, within an hour or two if not already, you're going to be so drunk that the shoes on your feet aren't going to matter anyway (or maybe that's just me).
