  • How's traffic from LA to Vegas??

I'm planning on leaving next friday around noon.

I know the drive should be around 4 hrs, but I've heard some horror stories about the traffic and it being super bowl weekend that it could take some 8 hrs either way.

Is there a "good time" to leave LA on a friday at all??

Last september I left around 2:30 PM and it was smooth sailing. I'm sure you'll do even better around 12. But it being SB weekend, IDK.

I'd get out of town as early as possible.

Dude, we're going at the same time. LOL We're probably gonna be nearby on the road. Leaving from Hollywood. Where you at?

And I've been there twice, the first time it took about 3 1/3 hours, the 2nd time it took about 5.

Yes, we're all rather close in distance. I'm in West LA.

Cool. I'm probably gonna be at my buddy's body shop in Westwood before he and I take off.

I live in Westwood, but work in Simi Valley.

So most likely I'll take off from there, unless I forget something on my place.

So yeah, we are close in West LA

I'm leaving early Thursday morning so traffic is going to be practically non-existent. One great thing about the bus, no driving and I can get good and trashed on my way over.

You should be good leaving at noon. I have left at about 1:30 and gotten to LV at 6:30 before and that was considered "smooth sailing" on a friday night. Don't expect to get there in the typical 3hr 30 min fashion.

Thanks guys for the answer. I'm more at ease now that I know that if I leave early, it shouldn't be a nightmare.

Now, for the way back... I'm going to assume that on sunday at about 8, 9 pm, there's no traffic whatsoever, right?

Not quite. Sundays always a bitch leaving Vegas. I'm not sure when superbowl ends but you'll get a rush of people leaving after the game too

But I'm determined to make the drive in march at the most
