The JC Forum outage this morning.

Sorry that the forums were down last night / this morning. No one is really sure why they went down...so i'm going to claim Osama Bin Laden did it. He thinks we are all infidels! haha.

I spoke with John G who hosts the jc forums and we are getting the new forum version installed today / tomorrow. Should have plenty new toys. Since the forums are hosted separately from the main site, we are going to run adsense ads on here. If anyone sees anything objectionable on there..just let us know and we will block the ads.

Good idea with the adsense - can earn a little bit of coin with them. Though, considering that they display ads based on content... Well, when dnix's May itinerary causes some objectionable ads, don't be surprised!

Yesterday when I tired to get on the site I thought I was banned. Chat room would be crazy I bet it would keep the topics on topic maybe.

So far, every forum Ive seen put up a chat room has failed (the chat room). I could see it working well on a social website (like eharmony), but have yet to see it work on a informational website, which is what this site is (Vegas).

Right now weve been weighing off topic post vs. traffic. No one wants to come to a dead forum. Weve already been there. Eventually, we will get stricter on the off topic post, but I think the OGs would agree, it has helped a lot more than it has hurt. Its not like new members are using the search button anyway. This really shouldnt be any issue. Your all forum savvy enough to know where your post should go.

True fucking fact! No offense to newbies, but I am getting sick and tired of answering what clubs are good on what nights. It's on JC's main page! It's answered over a million times. Can't you post a "PLEASE UTILIZE THE SEARCH BUTTON" announcement or something?
