I would say Im shocked, but nothing shocks me anymore. Thats what makes the game fun. Those guys werent being obscene. I loved that the Chargers fans were sticking up for them. Very classy of them.

yeah I was trying to figure a way into saying chargers fans deserved to lose but with them sticking up for him I couldnt do it. the jets fan is from cali too!

The 3½-minute video shows a man in a green Jets shirt, identified by police as Carroll, 43, a Southern California resident, chanting “Jets, Jets, Jets” with upraised arms facing the crowd in the stands. About 12 seconds into the video, edited footage jumps to four police officers surrounding Carroll, trying to handcuff him as he struggles. This is punctuated by shouts of “Attica” and boos from the crowd. One man repeatedly yells: “He didn’t do anything.”

After a little more than two minutes, Carroll is finally handcuffed and carried out in a prone position. There is a smattering of applause while others continue to heckle the officers.

Kanaski, who heads the department’s special operation unit, said Carroll was booked into County Jail on the two misdemeanor charges.

He said officers went to talk to Carroll after being notified via text message from an off-duty police officer at the game who said the Jets fan was intoxicated and out of control.

A sergeant asked Carroll three times to accompany him out of the stands but he refused. Kanaski said at one point Carroll tried to head-butt one of the officers. When the fan balled his fists and took a stance, the sergeant began to handcuff him, Kanaski said. That is where the video picks up again.

I love this, cops can now pick one guy out of 60K people at a sporting event and question him on "suspicion of public intoxication." The key to this whole thing is the text message from one off duty cop to his friend and fellow officer, the minute a clever defense attorney gets their hands on that the Police Dept. will go down in smoke

Cops ask fan to verify/clear an account against him, but refuses and then balls fists towards them. Drunk gets belligerent with cops to the point they have to pick him up & carry him away in an embarrassing fashion. :yawn:

Been to the Vet, but not the Linc... But the fans have always been upright & civil (to the right people). Been to plenty Phillies/Red Sawx games and those Boston fans are the crudest human beings alive - they cursed & heckled a little kid wearing Phillies gear AT Citizens Bank.

Not an issue - the team has the right to set their policy on what is deemed unacceptable at the stadium. Same thing as a club kicking out someone acting out of line or a restaurant asking a person to leave who's causing a scene.

exactly! if you want freedom of speech go to the capitol building and cheer for the chiefs. Once you hand them the ticket to an employee of the stadium to enter, your constitutional rights remain outside.
