Rap/Hip-hop?

Picking up on madscientist’s post in the Mirage thread …

Where’s the best spot right now for straight up rap/hip-hop, rather than just the sets of rap interspersed with house/80s/etc.? I used to love Poetry – it could get dicey at times, but it was always fun

Showing my age, some of my best ever nights were Thursdays at the long-gone club RA, with DJ Warren Peace (best DJ name ever, BTW).

I dont think there is one. I might be wrong. The only one that I knew of was Poetry and that's no more.

as far as i know there is none at the moment. poetry seems to be permanently gone. sucks A LOT

oh yeah, when i was just there a few weeks ago Prive was having hip hop fridays or something like that. i didn't check it out but its the only venue/night i could find that even mentioned hip hop. and i personally only hate prive a little bit...
