I’ve been working overseas for the last 5 years. I’m originally from Northeastern Pennsylvania and now I call Sacramento home when I’m back in the US. Whenever I get the opportunity to take a little break I make it a point to get out to Vegas as much as my schedule will allow. I’m tentatively scheduled for a mid-April vacation and my plans include another Vegas trip and associated exploration of the ever-evolving nightlife scene. It doesn’t seem that long ago that Tuesday night at Studio 54 was the midweek place to see or be seen and RumJungle was considered a Tier 1 party spot.
My last trip was a midweek affair last year just after MDW with tables on the Pure Terrace on Tuesday, Main Floor of LAX on Wednesday and a badly-located entrance corridor table at The Bank on Friday. My club music passion is Progressive and Hard House but I’ve learned to be more tolerant of other genres as my girlfriend and the other folks we party with prefer the Vegas standard Top 40/Hip Hop/Commercial Dance mix. I favor staying within “crawling” distance from my hotel room because I always rent a car and then end up having to take a cab back to my hotel after a healthy overindulgence. I then wake up and take a cab back to the place I was the night before to get the rental car. Now, I plan my hotel stays around my preferred partying destinations so I can just walk.
I’m taking a wait-and-see approach for my upcoming jaunt in April. The introduction of Haze and Vanity should shake things up a little as far as weekend party patron distribution. So, I’m certain I’ll be asking some questions prior to finalizing a plan for April.
I’m really glad I found this forum. Sifting through other forums to get decent (current) intel on Vegas nightlife is downright tedious. I truly hope I can give back as much as I’ve taken from this resource.
