HELP!! Choosing a Hotel...

Just want some opinions...
Monte Carlo or NYNY?
And why?

I've been to Vegas once before and I've stayed at the MGM Grand, I quite liked it, but it felt a bit far away from everything. You might feel the same way if you stayed at NYNY.

In my opinion, unless you are wanting to stay at a top end place like The Wynn or Bellagio it really doesnt matter where you stay as you will be out exploring the entire strip anyways.

monte carlo hands down.

reasons, rooms are nicer, its an easier hotel to navigate (nynyis a serious pain in the ass), its easy to get out of MC onto the strip, its easy to get a cab from MC, small casino to find people in and an overall nice spot for the prices, MC is my go to spot

I'm staying at NYNY in feb. because of the deal I got... it will be my first time there. Have never stayed at MC... but I think the rooms have been updated. Both in the same location. My go to spot would be the Mirage. But I would guess you got a better deal at the two spots you listed.

my friend and I go back and forth with that same question. I think NYNY is better. The Park Ave rooms are really nice and you usually get an auto upgrade to them. They are a tad bigger than the Monte Carlo ones. I stayed at the Monte Carlo last April and it was ok. Good enough to get some shut eye but not ipod dock and no plasma/lcd tv. I would say NYNY.

i stayed at mgm which is nice hotel is at the end but the casino is nice and big and a lot people go there so atmosphere is good and fun specially when there is on event and u can take monorail direct from the mgm even its going bankrupt, also stayed at the hotel, encore and vdara all are really nice hotels and i would definatly suggest once of those hotels, but between monte carlo and nyny all depends on how old you are nyny is more of young crowd people and casino is nice and lot of restaurants to chose to eat from, monte carlo is more older crowd my friend has stayed and been to his room nothing fancy about and casino is kind of boring

I've stayed at MGM and I really liked the atmosphere of the casino. But you asked about NYNY and MC. I haven't stayed at MC so I can't comment, but stayed at NYNY last year and...well...eh.

Nothing bad. We got a 19 inch CRT screen with about that many channels. Room was clean. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't stay there again if I had a choice.

That being said...I would stay there if it met my price points. If you get a good deal I wouldn't hesitate.

I've not stayed at either hotel but I do prefer the vibe of the MC casino over NYNY, plus you have a free tram to take you up to City Ctr & Bellagio. I'd choose the cheaper location, but if both the same I'd choose MC over NY. Plus I love MC brewpub.

Have stayed at both and gun to my head (like I'm doing for this next trip) I would pick NYNY. It's not exactly the most hopping place and I'm generally only using the room for sleep. But, there are at least some things to do.

Monte Carlo has to be the most boring on strip property of them all. Only good thing I ever found about it was that you used to be able to walk next door to the Boardwalk for wicked cheap gaming and to check out Purple Reign.
