  • Best Spring Break Location

    Hey all,

Ill be in the states in 7 weeks and will be hitting spring break for a month.

Whos been? Whats it like? and where is the best place to go?

I was thinking Miami? Panama beach? however a friend just told me south padre island really rocks.

    What does everyone think?

Id prefer to stay inside USA too

Panama reminds me more of a high school spring break location. I've never been to Miami but I'm sure that would be great-- I've been to South Padre Island and had a great time!

Had a blast when I went to SPI, can't speak for any FL spots. Lake Havasu is best experienced with a House Boat, either your own or find someone that has one rented or owned. Pretty sure you prob talking of warm weather spots but there are tons of ski bunnies at any of the Colorado ski resorts if you can pry yourself from visions of bikiniclad coeds. Just remember those ski bunnies need someone to keep them warm after a day of boarding.

I've been to Cancun 2x, South Padre Island 2x, and Panama City once. Each has its own special thing(s) about it.

We spent 10 days during my senior year in Padre. Awesome! We crossed into the beginning of "Texas Week" and it was absolute mayhem. Something about those southern girls with the accents I tell ya... The crowd was filled with mainly mid-western schools from Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, etc and a ton of Texas schools of course.

Cancun is its own little world in Mexico. Anything goes during that time of year as it does in most places. You'll likely get a good mix of people from both the States and Canada here.

Panama City- This was the shortest of the trips due to real life work, etc. Interesting mix of mid-west school and southern schools (Bama, Kentucky, Florida schools, etc.). The main strip along the water seemed like the "Fast and the Furious" was filming routine sequels all day long for the entire weekend.
            2012 Travel Itinerary

February 24th- March 7th- Florida with the wife and kids
April 26th- 29th- Myrtle Beach "Golf" Trip w/ the college crew
            August 23rd- 26th- VEGAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When exactly do you get here.......doing the math you are either just going to miss Mardi Gras or be here for the end of it.

You are here for a month, what else do you plan to do, just SB locations or doing any other towns too. If just SB stuff and you have a car I would do Panama, then New Orleans, then Padre, or reverse it and finish in miami.....all seem like a manageable drive from each other and you would see a few of the options.

I have been to Panama City Beach and it was fairly off the hook. The thing is that its dead all year around other then those few weeks in March. You really have to be there to experience the good times. Wet T-shirt /Booty shorts contests/ Free drinks are always the hi-light. Cancun on the other hand is fun all year around.

I will be flying into usa around march 1 with 1 year to stay.

My first order of business is spring break. I am not sure if i have a car, where i will be staying or what ill be doing.

I really should start planning though. How far is new orleans from miami?
