Just ordered some premium absinthe . I'll be bringing it to vegas with me, so pregaming should be lots of fun.

I can't drink that stuff. My friends and I got it in Mexico once and were all excited. They enjoyed it. I however can't stand the taste of licorice and unfortunately that's what it tastes like. After the first sip, I had to stick with tequila...

It seriously tastes like licorice? oh no... I hate licorice too Oh well, as long as I'm completely trashed, it really doesn't matter too much what it tastes like! haha I can drink jager if I'm smashed, but can't drink it if I'm anything less, not even on a buzz.

The reason it probably tasted like licorice was because it was from Mexico lol. The cheap stuff (Bright green, looks like listerine) tastes like shit. The expensive stuff (hazey dark green) is smoother and tastes better. You can also put stuff in it to better satisfy your tasting desire.

Absinthe tastes like anise, which is where Jager and licorice get their taste from. Better absinthe has more of a woody-anise taste. I've had both kinds, and the flavor is terrible but the drunk/high is incredible

Agreed. Hard alcohol in general doesn't taste very good. Absinthe is very potent in comparison (%60-%70 alc.) and the after effects are quite different. Like with most alcohol, different strokes for different folks. It all depends on the person and their preferences.
