OK, so I've been debating posting this for a few days for fear of making a bad first impression. I'll get to that part, but first a little about me:
Mid-30s male, live in New York City.
I've been to Vegas more times than I can count, probably 20+ in the last 3-4 years. However, mostly it's for business, though I usually try and include a "fun" element in my business travels, and I do sometimes come primarily for leisure. I'm professionally "involved" with the casino industry, so I know quite a bit about the business aspects of Las Vegas - new properties, profitability, operations, etc. But the only club I've ever been to was Krave
. Generally, the clubs in Vegas are not my scene... We usually prefer a nice dinner at the newest overpriced celebrity chef restaurant, and then free cocktails at the craps or BJ tables until all hours of the night. 
What brings me here is that I'm taking my little sister to Vegas for her 21st birthday. It'll be my S.O. and I, my sister, and two of her college friends, five total. The girls will definitely want to experience the nightlife, and all of us will probably go out at least one night as a group. So I found the JC website through the OpenVegas forums, and have been lurking for a few weeks.
There has been a lot of helpful information here. However, and this brings me to my "risk of bad first impression" question/comment, there also seems to be a ton of "fluff". Other forums I participate in have posters and moderators that do a good job of keeping individual threads "on-topic" So if a thread starts with a question about, say, bottle service etiquette, that thread will remain (mostly) about bottle service etiquette. Here, I've found myself wading through pages and pages of random conversation, and the valuable information can sometimes be difficult to find.
It's great that you seem to have a fantastic community on this message board, and people seem really friendly, but it doesn't strike me as the most efficient way to get information. Am I just misunderstanding the mission of the forums here? Are threads not supposed to stay on-topic? I guess that's fine, it is what it is, but can anyone perhaps provide some hints as to how to maximize the utility of these forums in that case?
