Generation Gap question...

Hello... I've enjoyed reading many of the threads on this site and can't wait to see if anyone has some advice for me. If you read this and your advice is "don't bother coming to Vegas"... bite me!

Heading to Vegas on Saturday, Dec 5th. for my son's 21st birthday. He's invited one of his friends to come along and my brother will be there as well. It sounds like it's tough for a group of 30-something guys to get into any of the ultra-lounges on a Saturday night let alone a group that includes two 50-somethings and a couple of 21-year-olds! Bottle service might be an option but want to make sure we pick a good spot. The Palms sounds like it might work but would love some feedback.

It would be great if we could find a place that we all could enjoy for at least one night. Any suggestions?

On Saturday I'd say go to Tryst.. You will probably like the crowd there a lot better than at Palms with the age range you're going to have. Just because you're 50 something doesn't mean you can't have fun in the club!! =-)

The 50 somethings do great at the clubs especially with bottle service. 50somethings tend to have money and people love money in Vegas.

first off welcome to the site.. second I think this is awesome that you take your son on his 21 birthday to vegas on a guys trip.

Dont worry about the age its just a number. You can go wrong with palms clubs and get wristbands that work great. They bypass the lines and get you in. Buy them in the stuff store at palms. That could be say friday night saturday go check out tryst or xs.

I agree on Tryst. Let me also suggest The Voodoo Lounge at the Rio and my favorite club in Vegas, XS at Encore. Have a great time!

We saw heaps of 50 somethings in the clubs having a good time - don't be surprised if you guys get more attention than the young ones! Girls will expect you to be loaded though and hit you up for drinks. I assumed the older guys were high rollers, in town for gambling and girls, it's good to know that's not always the case.

One of the lounge's where you can start with dinner and stay for dancing might work well, such as Voodoo or Tao.
Tryst and XS had an older crowd too and were my favourite clubs by a long way :-)

Welcome Bam Bam I would say that Palms is probably the best club to bring someone who just turned 21 to. Its one of the best that I have experienced. Attending on a Saturday for Paul Oakenfolds Perfecto is alot of fun. You could go with the VIP Wristbands or get a table on the terraces which would also be good times. The nice thing about getting service at the Palms is say you are getting a little tired of the music you can always head over to the Playboy Club where I always like to have a shot of Absinthe with Sugar around the rim. Its a drink that seperates the men from the boys. haha. It has a great view and the club above it called Moon is amazing. Palms is great for a combination of music styles. Your son will enjoy being able to experience a couple clubs in one night. Have a great time.

You won't have any problems having a good time at the upper scale clubs like Tryst and XS. They generally cater to all ages. While the lower ends usually focus on the 20 somethings.

+1 Nassau bought a round ldw. I didn't know what it was untill the next day when I watched the video. But I think that threw everyone off the edge. Btw it was at playboy club.

Maybe it's different in the states, the only time we've been really f***ed up on absinthe is in Prague...the stuff in the UK is just a spirit - I don't think it has the crazy shit in it

...but then Prague is a pretty hedonistic city at the best of times - the green fairy is just part of the fun! (and no Royale, that's not a veiled reference to my sex life!)

Most of the time G&Ts can have a similar effect if consumed in the right quantities!

Thanks to all the people that responded. I think the "club hopping" option of the Palms is likely the best choice for us. My brother is the "high-roller" in our group and he'll love the Playboy Club. My son and his bud will enjoy anyplace that has hot girls... OK, me too!

It seems there are several "wristband" options at the Palms. The "All Access" option with a "Hosted" bar looks interesting but there appears to be a couple of companies offering them.

Any suggestions about this option and which company is best?
