We'll be staying at the Rio the weekend before Christmas. Anyone have a good/bad experience at this place? The price seemed right for a mid-level place for the weekend that we decided to go. How are the restaurants, I-Bar, VooDoo?

I stayed at Rio last year during that same time. I liked it for the most part. The rooms were nice and service was good. I-Bar was boring and never jumping but prices were not bad. Voodoo was dead also, but that place was pretty cool and would like to go back. As for restaurants I only went to Rub BBQ and it was not bad but not the best I've had. I would stay their again and would suggest to other folks. The shuttles to the strip were great!

I stayed there in March this year and I will say I'd recommend staying there. What I liked best was they have a mini bar but they've also got a regular mini fridge for you to put stuff in. I managed to fit a 30pk, 4 redbulls, 750 bottle of Goose and about 3 gatorades in one fridge! We had two rooms so we fit a lot more but it worked out pretty sweet!
It's off of the strip but like livelife said they offer free shuttles to the strip. The only issue is they stop running the shuttle after a certain time but it'll only be a quick $10-15 taxi ride back.
I tried that rub bbq place too and it was ok, could have been better but I think what ruined it was the elevator ride to Voodoo... I know I'm a pussy for being scared of heights but whatever! lol
All in all I'd definitely stay there again especially for it being a bit cheaper than other places.................

Well it doesnt help that I ate right before that ride up.... and downed a drink or two.Originally posted by livelifeas1 View PostWait your Cisco you could not handle the ride up? I would have never guessed it. I'm afraid of heights also but it did not bother me too much.

Looks like a two block walk on google maps. Excellent! The wife will appreciate that one. Maybe her heels will actually make it though the night instead of walking barefoot out of the clubs...

Do you mean two blocks to the strip? Its a bit further than that I think, I wouldn't be attempting it in heels!Originally posted by rjleslie View PostLooks like a two block walk on google maps.
