I've never been in December but I was there this January and Feb. Jan it wasn't bad, only wore a light jacket out. Feb it was definitely chilly and wore a thicker jacket.

So about your first question... What is your goal for the amount of states you "conquer?" lol Cause your only going to be there for 10 days so I'd assume 10 would be the goal right? Also are you thinking about possibly adding points to the map, like certain states will be worth more than other states. I would really love to hear about how this map deal ends. But I must admit, the idea is pretty awesome in a total DB way!

We, we have 2 of us, (londonuk and myself), and with 10 nights, a goal of 20 must be set.


points is a good idea... how would it work though? bonus points for achieving a state with a lower population and/or higher morals?

Or additional bonus points if your states completed, border each other?

Thats not a bad idea. I think you should set certain points for states based on the population and distance to Vegas. So say Idaho may have a small population, its close to Vegas so its value shouldnt be as high as another small population state that isnt as close to Vegas like Iowa. But a state with a large population far from Vegas like New York or Florida, should have a higher point value because of the distance, but it should lose some points because of the high population. It would be interesting to sit and come up with these values, but it would be fun, haha.

i'm thinking CA and AZ should be the lowest points, because there are so many people from those states in Vegas at all times.

How about Nevada 'natives'? how many of them will there actually be in vegas... and do we count DC?

Population:
Divide the 50 states into 3 different groups:
high population: 1 point
medium: 2 points
low: 3 points

distance from nevada:
again, divide the states into 3 groups:
bordering nevada: 1 point
bit further away: 2 points
really far away: 3 points

so... california would be 1 point + 1 point
new york would be 1 point for population but 3 points for distance.
alaska would be 3 + 3 points!

then a +5 points for a jc member.

but then.... will it be
1) the state which they were born
2) the state which they live in
3) the state which they study in (or will there not be many students in vegas)
