Looking For Good Bars, Lounges, & Live Music

A few of us are heading to Vegas on the 11 -14. We want to check out a few different night spots that are good but not that expensive to get into. Looking for some cool bars, lounges & live music. Maybe even some of the smaller clubs would be alright. Whay would you guys recommend?

Also would like to check out a show or two. Friends wanted to see Chris Angel but I read that his show was not very good. Is this true? Any other shows you guys would recommend?

We are all on a budget so anything else you guys would recommend would be great!

whats the age group going? guys or girls? what type of daily budget? right of the bat I would suggest the bar at times square, which is dueling pianos and free and a very good time. let us know the answers to these questions and we can help you out.......welcome

We are staying at the Excalibur. Age group is from 22-35. It's going to be 1 single guy & 4 couples. Budget is going to differ from each couple so not sure on that one.

Read the reviews of Criss Angel on Yelp.. they have around a 1 star each... have NEVER heard anything good about his show. I saw Penn & Teller and thought it was great.. but I was really drunk during the show haha

alot of the casino bars can be alot of fun, like center bar at hard rock, the island bar at palms.....you should def hit carnival court at harrahs......for a little more upscale id suggest caramel at bellagio and vbar at venetian, these 2 are lounges with no cover charges and good scenery and vibes.....also look into the wristbands for the palms which is $60/each but gets you into all the palms clubs and lounges without a wait.

How is coyote ugly, pussycat dolls & wasted space? One of the guys that is going said he wanted to check one of those out.

The last time my & my girlfriend (now fiance) went, we went to a club not sure which one it was but we waited in a short line for at least an hour. Then it was $90.00 for me & her to get in. Don't want to do something like that again. The club wasn't even that great & was kinda of small.

coyote ugly is a waste of time, pussycat dools is a lounge within PURE and that will prob have a big cover BUT wasted space is a great spot to hang at, thats probably what youre looking for......the $90 thing is what you want to avoid, thats why the palms thing is such a good deal, cause only the guys really have to buy the bracelets and they will let the girls in with the guys and it gets you into rain, ghostbar and moon/playboy which is good so you can jump around. by thea way if you read thru the threads youll see that "we dont do lines" here at JC and by the time you go youll know how to do vegas cheaply to get the best return

How do I go about getting the bracelets for palms? I didn't know that the girls would get in free with the guys. That is a pretty cool deal to me.

I just got back, did it on the relatively cheap because it was only 2 of us. (TR coming once I get caught up from 4 days out of work)

Since you are going Wednesday-Sat and are Excalibur, I would send the group over to LAX @ Luxor Mid Afternoon/Early Evening Wednesday or Friday, There was a host there looking for tables we were able to get on the list, no cover, no line. Worked out really well. Plus if you still go to Chris Angel, it is right there. Probably send 2 or 3 girls at different times and say its smaller numbers and get there about 10-15 minutes apart when you go at night.

That is if you even really want the whole club experience, LAX isnt the best, but still was decent especially on a Wednesday when not much is going on and it is thier industry night. Drinks were $10, which isnt much worse than you would pay at casino bars.

Mix at the top of TheHotel was also really cool, and no cover before 10, good view of the strip and you can get to Mandalay on the Tram so no cab.

And I agree with NYC, the wristbands at Palms are a great deal, especially when you consider you can pregame more and go out later knowing you are getting in for sure.

2 different ways, either wanttickets.com or you can go to the stuff store at the palms which is to the left when you walk into the palms and next to the entrance of nine steakhouse

its not an absolute that the girls will get in with the guys, but as long as th guys have the bracelets I really really dont think that they will have a tough time, and someone just used the bracelets and said that next time they are only gonna buy the bracelets for the guys cause the girls always got in without it
