Question for you Yanks

What is your rule for liquid carry on's...

From what I have read it says you are allowed a quart sized zip lock bag...no issue there...

It then says 3oz bottles of liquid are allowed.

Now, does this mean I can shove as many 3oz bottle of liquid as I want into the zip lock bag...

Or does it mean a total of 3oz of liquids can be carried on in the bag?

Taken off the TSA website: 3-1-1 for carry-ons = 3.4 ounce bottle or less (by volume) ; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. One-quart bag per person limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring. 3.4 oz. container size is a security measure.

Hope it helps...I just pack everything in my suitcase and check it. No limit then. There is no way I could get a way with only that amount of conditioner for my hair!

I saw that too as well.

From what I understand you can bring as many 3oz bottles that can fit into the zip lock bag...

Thus if you had 4 3oz bottles, as long as they fit...it would be fine...

That is how I read it too. I get all wigged out when flying so I try to stay out of trouble. I always get pulled out and searched for some reason.

Then why do they confuse us with the picture they post? It shows a bunch of little bottles in a zip lock bag. This is why I just check everything.

because theyre bureaucratic assholes.....same reason why they insist on frisking the 75 y/o women in the wheelchair and let the guy with the towel on his head walk right thru. Im with socal tho just check everything cause they end up making you throw everything out and piss you off.

Because they want to show you what they look like -- some people are incapable of knowing what a 3.4 oz bottle is.

I pretty much always carry on my luggage. I put 4-5 of the 3 oz bottles (toothpaste, hair gel, shaving cream, cologne, deodorant) in my 1 quart bag and have never had any problems or extra searches. I usually use the hotels shampoo and conditioner as I'm a guy with shorter hair and don't really care about the brand. Just make sure to take the quart bag with your liquids out of your luggage when going through security/xray as it needs to be screened separately.

every airport is different, its all under the control of TSA but for some reason every airport is different. travelling with a baby is lots of fun, with the bottles and water and formula and desitin etc.....its really best not to chance it
