          I suggest online savings.

Once you put the money there, you don't really get to use it for impulse buys. If you're trying to buy something with the money right then and there, online savings accounts won't help you out - you have to wait for the money to get to you, which will take a couple days.

I've used ING & HSBC in the past before - ING's a little smoother, but I think HSBC might have a slightly higher interest rate. Not that it'll make all that big of a difference for a couple grand, but hey, it's something. And there's no minimums at either bank.

            +1 I use ING too. If I can't see it I can't spend it.

Also, I suggest remembering that all those places are in Canada... (ugh), while Vegas is in U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

I have a specific savings account that I have set aside for vacations...every week $50 is automatically transferred from my checking account to the vacations account, that way it's a no brainer for me, and I never miss that $50.

These are good suggestions. To add to it along the lines of Addicted's method, if you have direct deposit from work that can go into multiple accounts- have a % automatically taken from your paycheck into the online savings account.

Or you can try and hide the money from yourself.... it doesnt always work though, trust me
