This site is a great place for info. I have read the FAQs and all the info about clubbing. I still have a few questions that I hope the experts can help out on. There is a group of 4 of us (girls), and let's be honest we are not insanely hot with big boobs . I would like to know what really are our chances of getting into a club without waiting an ungodly amount of time or having to drop a crap ton of cash? We drink but not a ton so bottle/table service wouldn't be the best idea for us. I want a nice place with good music and dancing. We are 30yrs old and like to have a good time and enjoy a few drinks. So with that what would you suggest? Also, if a club that typically gets busy at 11pm would you still wait a long time if you got there right when they open? Do people start lining up hours before hand? Thanks for your input.

some place people start lining up about an hour before they open, BUT as long as you guys are presentable and have personalities you can walk right up to a doorman with confidence and say all 4 of us girls would really like to get inside you can help right, and maybe flirt a little you will be walked right in. OR option 2 is find a group of guys that have a table and ask to join them, very few guys will turn down ladies request
it's that time again, let's get #28 gentleman....for the boss

I think a good option for you girls would be Ghost bar, moon, tryst, voodoo lounge. All of them are pretty nice places, always a good crownd and generally not that hard to get in!

Can you dance at ghostbar, I thought I read that you can't. I am notorious for walking on the dance floor and not walking off until the lights come on, so dancing is a must for me.

ya, ghost bar is more of a hang out spot than dancing. But at voodoo, tryst, moon, jet, studio 54, those places you can dance and wont be waiting in long lines.

Have you ever stayed downtown? We rotate who picks the hotel and this year so and so picked Golden Nugget. We spent some time down there last year and it seemed ok. Did she totally bomb? We have been there many times so being on the strip isn't a essential for us.

naw, you can get to the strip fairly easy from there so you will be fine!! She didnt bomb, you can find a party anywhere and that place is safe and clean, just away from the action on the strip. No worries!!

I cant speak about old vegas because as many times as i've been to vegas, i've never taken a trip down there. And it was on nyc's counsel that i am thinking about staying off the strip for the first time and staying at the palms..i do know this, if you ladies happen to meet some guys in line, it would work to both of your advantage to work as a team to beat the line..i remember one time at tao we had table reservations and still had to recruit a team of girls to expedite our wait in the holding area. But as mentioned earlier, a good friendly attitude goes a long way..

ahhhh crap nassau, Im feelin the pressure now!!! lol I always had doubts about staying off the strip too but I have stayed at 14 hotels out in vegas, some of them ive stayed at numerous times, the last time i went i stayed at palms and it was by far the best hotel i stayed at, now I think I will always stay there, in fact i just booked the palms for oct 17.....i am confident you will like it. back to imnotshort, its not a big deal to stay downtown, its good b/c its cheaper and easy to get to the main strip...... whats funny is it doesnt matter where you take a cab it seems like it is always $10!!

Nyc it's all good..Hotel rooms are only good for 2 things: sleeping and well let's call it the post game...lol..even though the venetian is a key location, its more of a family oriented hotel. That's what it feels like every time i've stayed there. the palms seems like a younger crowd. i hate stumbling and fumbling out of the elevator smelling like sin tripping over grandma or little amy as im trying to get back to my room at 9am..just kidding...kinda...

lol we are totally hijacking this thread!

Nassau your right about the family oriented thingy. Notice how they stopped building hotels like excalibur LOOOONG ago? Exactly. I have seen parents with children in strollers , strolling down the strip at 2am in vegas....WTF. I dont think so. Find a sitter or have grandma watch them in the room. I have stayed at hotels ala MGM grand, waaaaaaaay tooo many children. NUTS!

Children belong in Disneyland, not vegas. Sorry !

Palms is the shit, fun crowd great energy level. Same with hardrock. Go accross the street from the palms at the rio and you have an older crowd, trust me you can tell as soon as you walk in.

Oh about the cab rides being a minimum of 10 bucks regardless if its even a block is so true. But from fremont street? More like 40 minimum!!
                      Appreciate Vegas

Im reallly getting excited about staying at the Palms..and IRock that 2am stroller thing is so true. Big ass kids with their feet dragging on the ground while they are in the stroller is too funny. Blowing a couple hundred at the craps table but can't hire a baby sitter? Come on.
