  • New Here-Going for Halloween

Been Lurking for a few weeks, and as it is close enough to my trip, time to log in so I can hopefully do a decent TR when I get back.

Going Oct 28-Nov 2, Staying at TheHotel.
Went Last year for Halloween going back again so I may be able to help with some questions if it isnt too late.

There is only 2 of us going (both guys) so table service is out, Here is a rough schedule of what we have planned.

    Wed-LAX
    Thurs-Tao or Low Key Bars/Gambling
    Fri-XS or Tryst
Sat-Wet Republic if the weather holds/ Palms Wristband
    Sunday-Bank

Doing the wristband Saturday, Was at Palms last year for Killer Costumes and it was alot of fun. Good to move around some and with Oakenfold later at night should be a good time. And with only 2 of us, have the wristbands, not worrying about lines and only dealing with one cover will be nice given how packed everywhere will be.

Having read all of the reviews I feel like this plan should work even though it seems most are doing Wynn clubs Sat and Palms Friday, other than that, any suggestions?

Nice! Going for the Wet during Halloween eh? I think you can still put it off. It was still shorts weather when I went to LV during halloween last year.

      Hey McNulty, and welcome.
      I'm going for halloween.
when you were there last year, were people dressed up all weekend.. or just on the actual day? cause I was thinking of dressing up on Friday as well.

are you using the name, McNulty, as in the Wire??

Yes, good catch on the name
I am from Baltimore, I like brown liquor, it is a natural fit.

Last year we did the same days, Wed-Monday but the holiday was Friday. I noticed the costumes every day growing it was about 15-20% of the people at LAX on Wed, probably 30% or so Thursday and 80-90% on Halloween itself (I was amazed how many people were not in costume but it probably wasnt too many in the larger picture).

I am thinking I may flip to Tryst Thursday and Tao Friday instead as I noticed Tryst doing a 7 Deadly Sins party Thursday. You definitley would not be out of place in a costume if you wear it over the weekend.

Also something to think about as you put together your costume is something alot of people were having problems with, To walk across Casino floors to get to the clubs you cannot have a mask or anything like that on for security cameras.

Yeah I am actually thinking of going to LAX friday which leaves me with needing something to do Wednesday and doing Tryst Thurs, Tao Fri, Palms Sat, Bank or XS Sunday.

Definites for me are now Tryst Thurs and Palms Sat, without dealing with BS it leaves more flexibility on those other nights.

Thinking about doing the wanttickets for Tryst Thursday, does anyone have any good or bad experiences with it or should I just try to use the contacts here and get on the list?

Saw an offer on Luxors twitter about Friday, something like a bar crawl around the property that ends at LAX that night and includes drink specials elsewhere. If i decided to go there for Deadmau5 anyway it was worth thinking about. Seemed a little cheap considering it had 2 drinks and some food as part of it, but I may check it out simply because if its no good, worst case is leave walk back to the hotel next door pregame for the night and be out a few bucks. If anyone else has seen it or can speak against it let me know.

Thanks for everyone for all the things I have read on this site, if I can help out with anything I saw last year on Halloween I would be glad to.

Halloween in Vegas is amazing last year I had the pleasure of hanging out with TEAM LONDON! We took over a Corner of a Dance Floor Table and TEAM LONDON (15 Guys) were dressed as droogs from A Clockwork Orange and My friend The Schwegg and I had full body Monkey Costumes. Shit was amazing! Have a wonderful night! We also were at the PALMS that night and it was phenominal! Have a wonderful time!!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Wire. i wanna go to Baltimore after watching the show. they have the best quotes on that show. Bunk: "i'm just a humble motherf%^ER with a big ass d&^k"

Okay, I'm gonna bring two or three costumes . i can't wait. what's your costume?

I won't be wearing a mask, so no issues there.. it would be too hot to wear a mask..

You shouldn't want to come to Baltimore because of The Wire.

Sadly the show wasn't over the top in any way. There are some good pockets in the city, a couple nice bar districts and good suburbs. Other than that, what you see in the show (boarded up homes, high crime) is pretty fair. Being from here, it definitely felt like being on the inside of a few jokes: knowing who each character was supposed to be, especially in politics and the PD and newspaper. If you do come to Baltimore, come for Preakness if they end up going back to BYOB-great time and alot going on in the city all week

I cannot wait for David Simon's new show on HBO, it will be about New Orleans and has both Bunk and Lester in it.

As for costumes, I am still between a few myself, so it probably depends what I have room for in the luggage and what I am feeling as I am packing. I definitely saw the clockwork boys last year as well, there were some creative and expensive costumes, but mostly just people having fun.

Made it through Monday, One more day of work is the worst I think. Still bouncing around plans and probably will until we get there, Thinking about the Luxor thing that ends at LAX Fri and Palms Sat are the only sure things based on what we have now.

I used to watch Oz, and I loved that they had so many characters from Oz on the show.
I can't wait for his new show either.
Next time I go to New York, I'd like to go to Baltimore as well. Yes, that's unfortunate, because I've read before the show is not exaagerating anything. that is very true to life.
the reporter that was making up the stories, who is his real life counterpart??

what is the luxor thing? I know that Deadmaus is playing at Lax on Friday, and I'm on the guestlist for it, but I'm not sure if we will have time to go to LAX, since I think we're going to Tao that night..

Just fly into DC, take the amtrak up to NYC and ride past B-More - that's about as much as you need to see of that city!
