Seriously, it's pretty goddamn inconsiderate to continue jacking a thread after the OP explicitly asks you to stop.
sorry bro .. I didn't mean to so personally offend you by talking about things unrelated to this thread

And are OP's the people that made those cool neon shorts and sun glasses back in the 80s??

Why don't you just skip the anti-depressents?

Will you still be depressed without them, if you are drunk in Vegas, and having a good time with your friends?

Now that just sounds dangerous cause if your prescribed them you should be taking them unless you talk to your doctor and he says its' ok to get off them for a few days while your out.... but then again these are drugs that change your chemical balance so again kinda risky unless the doctor says it's ok

In addition to what SunFire said, the medication is for anxiety as well as depression. So cycling off in Vegas probably wouldn't be such a good idea.

cycling off it is def NOT the answer.....with the whole vibe of vegas you will have a great time without getting plastered...in fact you might even have a better time cause you wont have to deal with the hangover/recovery phases of the vaca
it's that time again, let's get #28 gentleman....for the boss

i will probably get flamed for this response, but i'm going to say it anyways..

i think life will go on without anti depressants. yes, life is more often then not, unfair. tragedies happen, stress attacks--but you might feel better after taking those pills.

however, most people in the world do not resort to pills to get over depression. it is definitely a popular north american answer to dealing depressions, but quite honestly, i think it is over used, and for the majority of the population, unnessary. i have a friend that has to resort to those pills every time she breaks up with a boyfriend. then she goes on extreme mood swings in result of it.

i obviously do not know barrelO's medical condition, his life event history and i certainly do not pretend to be a doctor of any kind. but if i can be totally up front, i'm not sure if JC forum is the best place to ask if one can have fun without consuming alcohol.

i think it is fair to assume that everyone, at one time or another, had to deal with alcohol restriction. whether it be being pregnant, taking cold medication, being on anti-biotics, fasting for blood work, being the designated driver, AA, or whatever the case might be. i think everyone should already know by now whether or not they can have fun with or without alcohol.

Starting this thread might have been a mistake (and I can't even blame it on being drunk and not remembering, lol). To address some of the points raised would require going deeper into my medical history than I really feel comfortable with.

They were doing coke at Wet when I was there. Apparently that was a success since they could get that by the cops at the front

Barrelo Ive never experienced consuming anti depressants... What does it feel like? do they make you feel better or alter reality in any way? maybe a little high?

And like i said before, with or without alcohol you should be able to have a good time out in vegas. Just having no obligations and responsibilities for three to four days straight has gotta be a good time Good Luck Bro IRL

Thanks for the kind words. And no, it doesn't give a buzz or warp my senses or anything like that. It just puts me on a more even keel. Things don't get me down as much as they used to, and I'm not crippled by anxiety in social situations. It's like I've leveled up and enemy attacks don't take away as much HP.

a.d.'s and anxiety meds dont give a high or anything if you need them....I had my own little bout with the anxiety stuff in the midst of the economic meltdown, thats why i know first hand he cant just stop them for the few days
