Headed out at noon on Friday, October 2 to see the "Slash and Friends" show at the Mirage.
Rolled right to Bare Pool, based on the Board's recommendation. Peter Kolizares hooked us up with a daybed, which was a great call for that day. Nice assortment of talent, both topless and non. Also some unfortunate topless sunbathers, including a silver-fox and his 60 year old wife with bolt-ons, who should have kept her top on. Great tunes, and killer service. A few local industry workers who were making sure they had no tanlines before their shifts. Lots of fun to drink and cuss with. Sorry, no pics from the pool. Wound up hanging with a bachelorette party from Chi-Town, and knocking back dozens of pitchers of vodka/lemonades. The pool closed early because they were setting up for the show that night, but still had a blast, and left the pool well-hyped for the night ahead. Peter was good enough to knock $100 off the daybed cost in light of the early closure, which wound up being irrelevant, cause we quickly blew past our F&B minimum. I cannot even imagine how this place must go off during the hotter months.
Showered up and rolled to Foundation Room for dinner before the show. By far, my fave spot in Vegas. Kickass food, and a nice assortment of cougars out on the patio.
Rolled to the Mirage for the Slash show around 10. Most of you guys are probably too young to appreciate these guys, but it was a killer show. Courtney Love was a drunken mess, but they closed with some GnR and Velvet Revolver tunes. Met some more locals, which seemed to be the theme for the night. After-party was at Jet. Had a hookup through the Mirage, so slipped right in, but the place was a disaster. Total frickin' shitshow, and not in a good way. I punched out around 2:30, and went back to Foundation Room, which had picked up considerably. Closed it down at 4 and went to bed.
We were supposed to head back to LA Saturday, but of course we didn't. The Mirage rooms were a disaster, so we moved to the Venetian. Spent the day at Tao Beach (thanks for the hookup DJ). Unreal. The level of talent at this place was insane, the tunes were kickass, and everybody was just having a blast. Snapped a shot of one of our new friends as she closed it down for the day (see below, I hope).

Went to Lagasse's Stadium in the Palazzo for dinner and to watch the USC-Cal game. It's by far the best place in Vegas to watch sports. We had a lounge area all to ourselves, with a couple of TVs. Great food and drink, although not all that social. Hard to move around and meet people in that joint, but that's not why we were there. The sportsbook and gaming area are waaaay too close.
Swung through Barney's to grab some duds for the night, as I had only packed for Friday night. Lined up a table at The Bank, solely because the girls we met Friday were headed that way. I had never been a fan of the Bank, but it was actually a ton of fun that night. Robert Gamch booked us a table right by the dancefloor, and the whole staff was killer. Great looking crowd, and awesome tunes. Attached is the one pic my drunken buddy took at the table -- not sure what's with the funky imaging effect, but you get the idea.

Closed the Bank down and stumbled back to the Venetian. I think my voice came back 3 days later, but my liver is still pissed at me. Great times, and can't wait to get back.
