Day 1, Fri Aug 21
Friday started out with my waking up at 6 a.m. (standard for me nowadays as I’m in dental school and have class every day at 8) Flight was at 3 pm and we made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare. Having been on multiple trips a year with friends I decided to play it safe and only take one friend with me. She loves to party just as much as I do and is a little nuts (which is sometimes a good thing) At the airport we meet up with my mom and were off to Vegas. Once at McCarran we meet up with my aunt and uncle who said they wouldn’t miss my 21st for anything. So were all off to the hotel which was the Flamingo this trip. Having been to Vegas twice before I really didn’t think this hotel was actually that bad. The rooms were clean and we got a room with a strip view. Having had to work the night before and didn’t get off work till 3, I only had about 3 or so hours of sleep I decided I could afford to take a few hours nap. Since I wasn’t officially 21 until midnight we wouldn’t be doing anything until later that night. Woke up about 8 or so and got ready for the night out. The group had decided on the buffet at the RIO that night. It wasn’t too bad and there was a lot to choose from. Once back at the hotel my girlfriend and I walked across the street and got once of those huge Long Islands from the Forum Shops at Caesars. We walked around and window shopped while we drank our huge drink. About 1130 we walked back and met up with everyone else back at the hotel and started making our way over to the Mirage. This being my party and all I decided where we went, and I chose the Revolution Lounge to start out at. Well since I couldn’t go in until midnight we were sitting across the way waiting for the time to pass, when my mom comes over and proudly exclaims that she was able to talk to host into giving our group B1/G1 on table service since it was my 21st Bday!!! Right at midnight I was ushered in and the DJ said happy birthday to me. We were sat and ordered a bottle of Grey Goose and a bottle of Captains (the elders in our party don’t do vodka), and the host brought over a round of patron for everyone, woo! Way to start off the night. Revolution Lounge was actually my favorite part of this trip, the DJ was great and it had a great atmosphere. I wanted something a little smaller since we were to be getting Bottle Service at the Palms the next day. Well the night flew by and I was having a blast, around 3 or so my girlfriend had started to chat up some random dude who actually worked there and he invited us to go over to Pure with him. Ive always wanted to see it so we accepted. Once we got there I don’t know if I was way drunk or just was expecting more, but I wasn’t all that impressed with Pure. We were there for about an hour or so before I got super annoyed with my girlfriend who was all over some random ass dude. He clearly didn’t notice the wedding ring on her finger. (BTW she got married that Monday before we left) Once we left we hung out with a bunch of random ass people that were just walking around the casino before heading back to our room. This is where it gets werid. As most of you know Caesars is RIGHT ACROSS from the Flamingo. It took us almost 2 hours to get back. My girlfriend was way drunk and called this guy she met in Vegas a few years back, who she dated for awhile and was trying to convince him to come pick us up. I sat on that stupid bridge listening to her scream for over an hour. Finally we make it back into the hotel and decide were hungry. We stumble across Burger Joint about 530 or so. Now Im normally just a plain cheeseburger girl, and this may be proof of how much I had to drink that night, but I ended up ordering a turkey burger with bacon, some sort of creamy sauce and sprouts?!?! WTF?? Anyways Im assuming it was good because I ended up eating it and off we were to the room, where we passed out. Day 2 (Saturday) to come.
