I need to get on this Yelp thing. I fee like im missing out.

it's a good way to find out if a place is good or not. i find it helps with restaurants a lot, because i don't neccessary agree with a lot of what the food critics say.

i mean, i don't 100% trust yelp either.. i only trust it when i see a ton of reviews on one place, and they all generally say the same thing (you will always have one perfect review, and one horrible review, so scratch those).

Yelp is perfect when you're exploring and want something that you know will be good.

That said, there is one issue -- overreliance on sites like Yelp, Citysearch, Zagat, etc. has led to the deterioration of the "walk in and try a new place" method, which is unfortunate. You'll find the one of the best taquerias in the Mission or one of the best dim sums in Chinatown (talking SF here) by reading Yelp. You will only find the absolute best -- the one that you like the best, the one that is your personal favourite -- by trying completely new places out.

My current favourite taqueria ever was discovered this way.

Zagat is honestly meant for people with "refined" pallets (ie old people who love overly expensive food just because).
