The guy who bids $1 on everything is second in douchebaggery only to the guy who bids $1 more than the previous bid.

My sister stayed at the Hilton for a convention. She said it was fine. Apparently it had been kind of grim for a while, but they've redone the rooms. Her room she said was perfectly nice and had been updated to the same quality level as other Hiltons she has stayed at.
I don't like the Hilton much because I don't like to be off the strip, but she frankly dislikes Vegas and so not being on the strip is irrelevant to her.Last edited by Cortina; 10-14-2009, 11:26 AM.Epic trip was epic.

Save me some typing... http://www.yelp.com/biz/las-vegas-hi...z1Y9IJt2PQorzwOriginally posted by tangoplus View Posthow is hilton? i have not been there either
I had a fantastic stay at the Hilton LV. It took me a while to write a review because I was debating on giving this place a 3 star or a 4 star. It came down to a problem with my bill and they were able to properly adjust it without a lot of hassle. For some reason they had mistaken me by someone else with the same name, and gave me the wrong rate on my room. Either ways, I am glad we have that behind us.
The rooms were simply comfortable, clean and classy. This isn't your party hotel located on the strip. I would say the crowd is more of your 40 and 50 year olds that knew what the Hilton name stood for back in the days. The Hilton chain has always had a standard to keep up, and this location is no different. They have even moved on with the times with flat screens and brand new furnishings in the room. I had a strip view room where I can spot the Encore and Wynn at a short distance. Since most of the activities I did on this trip focused around the Wynn, this location was perfect. It took me 5 minutes to drive over there. Also about 10 minutes to get to the MGM/NY NY. If you choose to not drive, the monorail station is connected to this hotel. Perfect way to booze your way through Vegas and not worry about DUI's.
The rooms were great and the hotel was a sign of pure class, but I only had one gripe. The service needs some slight improvement. When I was checking in, I was directed to the "information line" to pick up my key. This line did not exist and the employees spent sometime arguing before they were able to help me. This seems a bit unorganized. Also lastly, I wish they would let you check out at an automated kiosk or the hotel TV like the MGM. The line to checkout was a good 10 minute long. Fortunately they weren't charging for overstay fees since I got there right at 11am.
I will definitely come back to the Hilton again if I want some peace and quite, and yet be in the thick of things by a simple drive. The Hilton LV is fit for a king, just like advertised.

Sure, but I'm talking about the guy who bid $4K, only to have the next guy bid $4,001.Originally posted by tangoplus View Postdeserves it though
why would anyone bid on just one dollar when you are not the final bidder? that's just tactics 101!
I can't find the Family Guy clip though

ooh LOL yeah that bites...
but kind fair at the same time.. because if you are the last bidder, that means you've been on the stand the longest. time to play!
