A star was born that postseason, K-Rod.

I'm not sure how many miles away from NY I live, but I want them to win!! (and if you want a reason, it's that A-Rod is the only baseball player I've heard of)

Just got sent to Singapore with work, and the only decent sports channel in the hotel is ESPN - it's brilliant, all that's on it at the moment is Baseball!

They Yankees 2nd game was awesome!

Yet to catch a full phillys-dodgers game, can someone choose who I should support in that one for me?!!
        Things I've learned in Vegas:
Girls from Lake Tahoe are crazy, they are just "not that sort of crazy".....

+1 i was doing some killer planks for the abs as Johnny Damon blasted a HR out. The fat chicks on the treadmill almost fell over with their little Angel visors.

Well, the Phils are up in the best of seven series, 3-1, so they only need one more game to advance to the World Series... So... Uh... Well... Support who you want, but, just saying...

I hate C.C. Sabathia (No I really don't I used to think he was some kind of demigod when he was in Cleveland)... BUTTT he didn't do shit in Cleveland, well besides winning a Cy Young among other things.. but he REALLY didn't do shit in the post season for the Tribe. 1-3, 7.92 ERA, 22 walks and 24 strikeouts in 25 innings pitched and this year.... Now Sabathia is with the Yankees and is 3-0 with 1.19 ERA, 20K, and just 3 BB in 22IP in the postseason.....Basically I dont really hate C.C. or the other 24 A-holes wearing pinstripes... I just wish the yankees franchise and more importantly the Steinbrenner family would fall off the face of the Earth (even tho Steinbrenner is from Cleveland)... They single handily ruined baseball by monopolizing the sport with their big market status.. PISS OFF Yanks...

I'm going to go ahead and be deliberately provocative. If you can't bring yourself to root for the Angels after Nick Adenhart, I don't know if you can consider yourself human.
The only winning move is not to play.

Your right there were two small markets in the WS last year. But I think its just bs when the yankees have a $200M payroll which is almost 3x the league average, and $50M more than the next team which is coincidentally the other NY team...... Half the yankee team is hall of famers, and until a salary cap is imposed, the big market teams will always have an unfair advantage. And this is why I hate the yankees and large market teams, cuz they steal the great players that mid market farm clubs develop because they can no longer afford them.

I like the Yankee's spending spree thus far with the acquisition of CC. They have proven that buying the best team doesn't always produce the results. This year they got a stacked line up still, but guys like Swisher bring in a locker presence that you can't buy with money. They truly are the most dominant team in baseball and clicking in all cylinders. I see them taking the series in 6 vs the Phillies.

philly is considered a small market team....crazy but they are. there is a salary tax imposed and the teams that go above it pay a tax, which we do, but if you look at the teams that make the most money its actually some smaller market teams because they get the penalty money that the large market teams pay and pocket it instead of reinvesting it.....its not fair to their fans but its a business and some owners are content with their income and dont want to take the chances that others do....its really no different than any other business, lets look at hedge funds: if a hedge fund manager is making a nice living and is content he will keep his company small, if hes a guy that likes the fame, fortune and limelight then he will go otu and get the biggest and best employees that will bring in HUGE investments and potentially make 100 times the amount of income than the guy tha chooses to remain small.

I also agree with what royale said, the winners of the past 8 world series all had the hard nose. gritty, fast pain in the ass on their respective teams, for instance juan pierre, david eckstein, dustin pedroia, joe crede etc. its more about the chemistry of the team than the payroll.....the biggest statement against your argument is the basis of your argument: the fact that none of the highest payroll teams have won this decade besides the yankees in 2000 and I dont think their payroll was that outrageous that year.
