  • snowboard or ski?

I live in Denver, Loveland ski valley opened today, earliest opening in 40 years. A Basin opens Friday, earliest day for them in 64 years. For me this is quite exciting, the season is right around the corner. I'm truly a snow bunny, I'm a summit girl at heart and usually only ride Keystone or Breck. So question is do you ski or snowboard?? I have only been skiing twice in my life, don't think I'd like to go again.

Snowboarding for sure! I haven't been in a few years, so I miss it a lot. Last time I went though I was coming down one of the slopes and I couldn't get stopped in time and ran into this lady, and of course my instant reaction was to hold my hands out in front of me, so I accidentally grabbed her boobs. How embarassing...

But snowboarding for sure, it's more challenging and fun, and snowboarders are cooler than skiiers. Although snowboarders do tend to have ego's and can be rude. Seems like there's always tension between snowboarders and skiiers.

I can vouch for this. I have a house in upstate NY at a ski resort, and a few years back a snowboarder going about 30mph in mid air slammed into my mother shattering both of her legs in 18 places tearing the acl mcl and miniscus in both knees and putting her in a hospital bed for 6 months, scumbag didnt even apologize.....and to be honest here in the northeast, the trails are very narrow the conditions always suck and the snowboarders fly around with no respect for other people....so needless to say I have a good reason for choosing skiing, although I have never tried snowboarding.

Skiing for me. I have a house in Vail and i am there every winter. It weird to hear about Keystone and A-Basin opening that early. Thats crazy. I have been skiing since i was 5 years old. I tried snowboarding once and it wasnt bad, but since i am only out there for 2 weeks a year on the slopes i would rather do something i already know and have fun with than to waste my limited time out there trying something new.

Mono-Ski I grew up in Jackson Hole (Amazing mountain) Skied for a long time, Picked up a snowboard and had a great time on it but it was missing something in the steep stuff. So decide to try something different it is the best of both worlds.

Yeah its nice living so close to the mtn., I moved to Keystone right after high school and spent a year up there, it was amazing to roll out of bed and be on the lift less than 10 minutes later!!
