Well I finally mustered up the energy to write a trip report for Day 1. Sicne I have got back I havent had the energy to workout or do much of anything. Just lucky to make it thru the work day. Anyways I am not much of a creative writer, so here is the first day from what I do remember.
Day 1: Our flight is set to leave KC at 6:40 pm and my buddy doesn’t pick me up until 5:45 due to work. So immediately we are off to a bad start wondering if we can get our bags checked or not. I check both our bags and he parks. Thank goodness the plane was delayed and he ends up making it. Score. Southwest has a deal now where you can buy 4 drink tickets for the price of 3 at their counter; I discover this and jump on it. So I end up downing 7 monster and vodkas on the plane and ask our attendant if I could have one last beer before we land. She responded with, “Are you kidding me right now?” Anyways the other gal heard this and brought me a free beer and just laughed it off.
So we land and take a cab to the Mirage. My buddy that traveled with me had never been to Vegas so I was trying to game plan something fun for the night. We change clothes quick and head over to the players club so that I could get my free $50 in gaming chips that I was promised along with my kick ass hotel deal. We play blackjack for about 20 minutes and win some money while slamming a few drinks. I thought it would be a good idea to head across the street and hit up some of the smaller casinos. First stop was Bill’s where we won again and slammed some more drinks. The smash and go style of gambling seemed to be working. Next stop was O’Shea’s were we didn’t have much luck but pretty much got back to even and then jetted after about 2 hours. By this time we were beyond hammered after drinking on the plane heavily and drinking at the tables.
We go back to the Mirage to hit the craps table and I had a feeling Aaron might have some good rolls for his first time and I was right. He was hitting points left and right and we were downing double pours of Glenlivets on the rocks. I told the waitress I would triple her tip if she brought us two at a time so she started doing that. This is when things started to turn bad. All of a sudden the table turned sour and we weren’t sober enough to realize it. So we lost all our profits and our buy in. This is when Aaron said well its time for bed it’s already 5 am. Ok, great idea except on our way back I veer into the poker room and part ways.
I have always had success playing against guys that have had way too much to drink. Well I thought it could work opposite for me since I am a pretty good player, but these people would be gunning for my money just by the looks of me. So I switched to sugar free redbull and vodkas in the hopes that I could be a little more alert. Probably took me an hour to donk off my buy in mainly due to the fact that I got called on the river every time even though they didn’t have any business doing so a few times. I guess the drunken idiots always do lose their money!
So I hated going to bed losing so I decided to hit a blackjack table that was about full. The table was full of people from over sea’s somewhere and they were all cool as shit. Hell one of them didn’t even speak English which was pretty sweet. I ended up drinking my face off at that table some more on doubles and consistently won the whole time. Our table broke up around 10 am because the others wanted to go get breakfast. So I head back to the room and wake Aaron up by jumping on him probably due to the fact that I didn’t think he should be sleeping on a bright sunny day in Vegas at all! Anyways during this time I was also taking hundreds out of my pocket and throwing them all over the place like a jackass. Not sure how much I won at the table since I lost at craps and poker and didn’t know my starting point, but it had to be around 2 grand I guess. I ended up passing out and Aaron kindly picked up all my wadded up bills and put them in a pile for me when I woke up. When he got back from the liquor store and eating he found two more bills behind the nightstand. Good thing somebody was looking out for me and was honest, lol. Day 2 to come.
