Okay so this has been a struggle to write on top of telling story after story to all of my friends back home…plus I know there are several things I don’t remember. All of the the days and nights blur together. I regret not taking more pictures but I’m lucky I was functioning well enough to come up with the ones I do have. I’ll warn you: I tend to ramble so I probably will tell you about a lot of things you don’t care about ☺. I apologize in advance!

Day 1- Friday

Our day started at 6:00am eastern time getting up and ready for the airport. I only mention this because it’s the start of our no-sleep weekend. I’ve never felt so awake before at 6 am…I was ready to start the party. The 3 hour plane ride there actually went pretty quickly and landing was the best feeling ever.

We rented a car because we had plans to see my family that lives in Vegas during the day on Saturday. I had gotten a pretty cheap deal from rentalcarmamma.com for a compact car. When we got there they tried to give us a small economy car and I just wasn’t having it. I politely walked over to the man working in the garage and asked if he really expected me to drive around in a tin can all weekend (with the cutest smile I could come up with of course). He told me to pick out a mid-sized car for no charge. Done and done.

We were starving as it was now 1:00 or 2:00 our time. First stop: In & Out Burger. I grew up on it (in California) and one of my friends had never had it so it seemed like the perfect choice.

After lunch we made our way down the strip to TI. We pulled into the valet line and we were on our way to party town. There was a long line at check in but it went really quickly. I was a little nervous as to who we were end up with at the front desk as I was prepared to try the sandwich trick. The girl that checked us in was young…I’d say late 20’s and really nice. As I handed her my sandwich I nicely said, “It’s my birthday weekend, are there any complimentary upgrades available?” She was really excited, pocked her $20 bill right away and began to check for upgrades. She gave us a strip view room with a bottle of champagne. Perfect.

We headed straight up to the room and didn’t waste any time changing for the pool. I was ready to start drinking. The pool at TI was more of a party than I expected. There were people dancing everywhere, dropping drinks in the pool and hanging out. It was great! One of my friends must have told the DJ it was my birthday because next thing I know he’s shouting out to “Brie from Kentucky” and everyone started cheering. It was great! The buckets of beer were non-stop and the music was good.

We left the pool around 5:00 and my friends wanted to eat and then take a nap (two things I thought weren’t allowed in Vegas??). We went to Kahunahville and I decided it was absolutely inappropriate that there wasn’t a club sandwich on the menu. So, they made me one!

After dinner we headed back to the room where my friends wanted to nap (HA again) but that wasn’t about to happen on my watch. I put my ipod on the docking station and started a dance party! Well, sorta… more so laying in bed dancing (if that’s even possible)…I was almost too drunk to stand up. Later, I decided it would be a good idea to order our bottle of free champagne and jump on the bed, flute in hand, when it finally arrived. I think we spilt more champagne than we drank.

Getting showered and ready was definitely a struggle but I was determined to get it done. I sent out a mass text reminding everyone about the meet at Ghostbar and decided to share a cab with luckythirteen since he was staying next door at The Mirage. We met at the casino bar at TI and headed over to the Palms. He had a wristband waiting at the stuff store and we were on the list so getting in was no problem—plus, it was really early. One of the guys checking ID’s wished me a happy birthday and I was SOOO shocked that he knew. Then I realize he was checking my ID…for my birthday…hello blonde/drunk moment.

There weren’t many people at Ghostbar yet but I didn’t mind. The view was really awesome and the atmosphere was good for the start of the night. Drew sent me a text that he was downstairs and I replied “get your ass up here NOW!” Once he came up we all did a round of shots thanks to luckythirteen. What did I say about shots before the trip?? No SOCO, right? What does he get? SOCO. So, basically, I blame him for the rest of my night being a huge blur.

We decided it was a good time to head over to Playboy. We got there, got drinks and the guys gambled a little bit. I just remember drews friend bit me on the shoulder and I was super confused. Who does that?? Haha. Okay, so here’s where things get fuzzy. Apparently after playboy we went up to Moon…..I don’t remember Moon….. at all. Couldn’t even tell you what it looks like or if I had a drink there or if music was playing…..or anything. At all.

Next thing I remember we went to Rain. The guys got to walk right in with their wristbands but we got stopped. I said, “Oh it’s okay, we’re on the list and, besides, it’s my birthday.” The guy said, “There’s a guestlist line.” I said, “We know Shawn.”……. He let us right in. Haha ohhh drunk people say the darndest things, right? Psh, I wasn’t about to wait a guestlist line!

Once we got into Rain I just remember being kind of bummed that it wasn’t prettier. All I remember was concrete and lots of black. Maybe I’m wrong? Anyway, we lost luckythirteen and I was very concerned and decided to go look for him. I kept getting lost. I just remember a lot of stairs and the next thing I know I’m standing outside of the club in the middle of a roped off area. They told me I had to go back in or get back in line. I thought it was extremely rude of them (even though now I realize I was just in their way) and wandered off to sit down somewhere and take my shoes off. Drew and my friends called me and I told them I got KICKED OUT of Rain (LOL) and to come get me.

Finally we found luckythirteen and found out he had been gambling and won a couple grand. I started to realize that my feet were severely injured from my shoes and refused to put them back on. I even walked to the bathroom barefoot…gross, huh? We decided we were tired as it was now 3:00am and we had been awake for 24 hours straight due to the time difference. Outside the taxi line was outrageous so we decided a limo would be more appropriate.

I don’t remember getting back to the hotel but we did… thank goodness.

Day Two- Saturday

For some reason during the entire trip we were up bright and early around 8:00 am. I sat up right away and said to my friends, “Oh my God we didn’t even go to MOON! Wtf!!” and they proceeded to tell me we did actually go there. Our next trip out I’d like to actually see it again. And somewhat remember it.

I looked down at my feet and was absolutely appalled at how wounded they were. Cuts, bruises, blisters. I couldn’t help to wonder how on earth I was going to wear heels two more nights out. I’m pretty sure I was still drunk from the night before when I asked my friends to call me an ambulance or find a healthcare professional on-site. Thankfully I still had oversized bandages packed from a previous vaction!

I checked my phone and realized several people from the planned meet up had sent me texts asking where we were—I just want to say I am so sorry to you all and hope to meet you at the big group trip in May!

The rest of Saturday isn’t very exciting for all of you to read about. We made the extremely hungover trip out to see my family and get lunch.

Once we got back to TI we laid around the room for a bit and then forced ourselves to get ready for Saturday nights meet up at Blush. As we were getting ready Boogie text me to let me know that Blush wasn’t open yet so we relocated the meet up to Parasol down which is also in the Wynn. Even though the Wynn is fairly close to TI I refused to walk with my feet situation the way they were so we cabbed it.

I had been in the Wynn before but apparently forgot how absolutely gorgeous it is inside. We made our way down to Parasol where cthip was waiting for us. He was really nervous about his friends ID situation so only stayed for one drink but it was really nice to meet him, cool guy. Luckythirteen made it out for the Saturday night meet up and told us his hilarious story of circling the mirage several times looking for the door the night before!! Boogie was actually at Parasol Up, which is upstairs (imagine that) so he came down for a bit to hangout. William142 sent me a text asking where we were—apparently Blush had finally opened so we all finished our drinks and headed over there. We all hung out by the bar and were chatting and having a good time. We found hawkgolfer and his friends and the group was finally all together. They had free champagne for girls but honestly the sound of champagne after having some the night before was not appealing whatsoever. Everyone kept commenting that I was drinking slow but I just knew what was in store for my later since it was going to officially be my birthday at midnight.

…Then I went into the guys bathroom at Blush and did extremely inappropriate things while the Barbies watched. Just kidding…

It was after 10 at this point and time to make our way over to Tryst. There was already a huge line but the whole group followed me as I walked right up and asked for our contact person. He let us in right away and gave us line passes for the guys (which I was extremely grateful for considering we had wayyy more guys than girls). Tryst was AMAZING and gorgeous and just…. Just definitely the perfect way to spend a birthday with a great group of people! The shots started coming right away even though it wasn’t midnight yet and as I made my way to the bar I bumped into a guy that was drinking straight vodka and offered me some. We all kept checking the time almost as if it was new years. It was so nice how everyone was dedicated to making it such a great birthday experience. The DJ was playing great music—when Pokerface came on (huge Gaga fan right here) it was time to start dancing. Apparently my friend and I were doing the same EXACT dance and everyone thought we had rehearsed. It was fab.

Finally it was midnight and a lot of people disappeared to the bar. The next thing I know I’m being handed shot, after shot, after shot. Lots of tequila and Washington apples. William142’s friend bought the entire group a round, which was really nice! I must have done at least 6 shots all in a row and by this point had switched from beer to vodka cran’s. My drink was nearing empty and found some nice guys that had a table to help me out. I think I opened a new bottle for them and just started pouring drinks for everyone at their table, insisting they weren't drinking enough!

The one complaint, if any, that I have about Tryst is how crowded the dance floor was and how bright it was out there. We didn’t go out there a lot since we were attempting to keep the group together so we had our spot that we were basically stationed in the entire night. Luckythirteen disappeared early and I’m not sure what happened to William142 and his friends but we left with hawkgolfer and his friends.

We got in line for a cab and the next one in line was a van…we thought, hey perfect, a van for 6 people!! They wouldn’t let us all in the van though and we couldn’t comprehend why (we found out later why). So, 3 of us got in one cab and the other 3 got in another and headed back to TI. I guess the cabbie didn’t appreciate the tip we gave him so he rolled down his window and began screaming at us!! We were so confused. The shoes came off once again when we got there. I had bandaged them up pretty good but they were still absolutely killing me. We went upstairs and waiting for the other 3 to get there. Everyone except me wanted to go to Casino Royale for some late night gambling but walking down there and being on my feet later in the night did not sound appealing to me so I passed out. Everyone else stayed out pretty late…way to be troopers!


Day 3- Sunday to come shortly. I actually have to return to work tomorrow so I’m off to catch up on some sleep!

Great TR so far and sounds like a great group met out there. it only makes the experience better..
