How busy does vegas normally get during labor day (weekend/week)?
We are vistiting from the UK on 26 aug while 2 sept, I've heard stories of vegas getting extremely busy that week and very hard to get into clubs. Is there any truth to this?
Do all the prices go up?
If the queues are going to be stupid long, I think we would get front of the line passes for most clubs. Hows the best way to sort that out considering we live in UK??

    Cheers, Craig

    Craig,

Labor Day weekend is one of 4 major nightclub holidays of the year. The other 3 are Memorial Day weekend, 4th of July weekend, and of course, New Year's Eve.

The stories that you have heard about Labor Day weekend are true. It can be a feat to get into a lot of the nightclubs in Vegas, even if you have a table reservation. I'm not saying that it's impossible to get in without help, because it's not. Although, if you do try to get into a venue without the help of an independent service, or someone who knows someone, the doormen will most likely be expecting a tip of at least $100 to skip the line, and this probably won't include cover.

As far as buying line passes, I'm assuming that you are talking about an independent hosting company like ours, or another. Like I said before, it's not impossible to get in on your own, but it helps to have a little assistance for a holiday like Labor Day weekend. I think that I've mentioned in a previous post that the purpose of using an independent host is to relieve you and your party of any worries or insecurities about not getting into a venue without a hassle. It's not for everyone, but some people think it's the way to go.

does anyone if Napkinnights.com will be worth a try for labour day weekend/week or do you think the clubs just won't honour the guestlist because how busy it will get?

has anyone had experience with Napkinnights.com, did they honour your name on the list?

Its not so much napkinnites not honoring your name, its the clubs in paticular. I would say you can try, but that is a HUGE party weekend, and the clubs will be packed all to wall, everyone of them! So, you are going to pay and likely wait to get in no matter where you go, expect higher than average prices and a LOT of people.

Guest lists will not be in effect on Labor Day weekend. If you want to go to a club, expect to pay. Whether you plan to pay off the doormen, or use an independent service, you will end up paying. If you're are planning on a nightclub outing during that weekend, it may be wise to use an independent host just to give yourself piece of mind.

I would have to agree. any holiday is more about the money then the lists.
            I love New York nightlife.

how long would you say the tyipcal queue is on a holiday weekend, a few hours? if we chose to go to a club that was in our hotel (mgm grand) would they help you out with any line passes would you think?

I went to Jet when I was over (from Scotland) a few weeks back on July 4th, one of the biggest nights of the year (apparently!), and I only had to queue for about 45 mins and paid, I think, $20 cover. It was absolutely PACKED inside, and a 45 minute queue didn't reflect how busy it was! I started queueing about 11:15pm though, so got there nice and early.

Also, I went to The Bank the next night (July 5th) with 4/5 guys, walked straight up to the bouncers, gave them $100 (between us - so only ~$20 each) and walked right in, queued for 3 seconds.

Overall, I was shocked with how LITTLE I had to queue, after expecting having to wait ages. (Another example - night before Jet, on the 3rd, we went to Moon about midnight, walked right up, didn't queue at all, so it was pretty easy all in).

You been to Vegas before? I hadn't and i've been depressed ever since I got back! Britain is just SO SHIT compared to Vegas!

First of all, Studio 54 and Tabu at the MGM don't have the same appeal that they once did. You may still have to wait a bit, but not as long as you have to wait if you went to a top-ranked venue.

As Hoody stated, he went to Jet and The Bank and didn't have much of a problem. Although Jet and The Bank are top-ranked venues, they are not as tough to get into as a few other in Vegas. If you went to a more popular venue like Tao, LAX, or Pure, things wouldn't be that simple. At Pure on a holiday weekend, I've seen people with table reservations wait over 45 minutes to get in, and they have much more priority than a group of guys who just want to get in without waiting in line.

I'm going with girls, so that might help out a bit rather than with a large group of lads. I'm only getting back from a large festival the day before (leeds fest) so gonna be in a state before even get there. It happens to be The Killers the last band of the weekend as well, so a bit of vegas before we even get out there. Its first time in vegas, so prob gonna make some rookie mistakes no doubt. Thanks for all replies so far appreciate the help.

hoody you mentioned tipping bouncers, you just walk up to them and slip them the tip, and you walked past the line more or less not saying a word to them. Or best to ask the boucer if our group can skip the line while giving money.

Its so different to UK, when going to a club in the uk you either get on the guestlists before or you queue, no other way about it and not all clubs do guestlists. I won't even think of tipping a uk bouncer they would most likely laugh at you

If you have girls with you, make sure they are looking hot and have them in front of you to get in! Bouncers love hot woman, and typically let them in first, so, if you are with hotties, that helps your chances of getting in faster!

and definitely dont shy away from tipping any bouncers if you have the chance, just be discreet about it DO NOT MAKE IT OBVIOUS and dont talk too loud. simply shake his hand with money in it and ask how long you think we have to wait or can you take care of me, something like that and youll be fine.
it's that time again, let's get #28 gentleman....for the boss

I just went up to them and politely asked "how much to get us all in?" He then straight up said "100 dollars - so 20 dollars each", gave him the bucks and he opened the rope and we walked straight in while all the other chumps were queueing away! It certainly made me feel important!
