So here’s my trip review of this past weekend:

Friday: On Friday, the plan was to leave work at 2pm, go get an oil change, pick up my girl and head off right after that. While I was at work, I get a text from her stating that she’s going to sneak out of work at 12 (YES!!!), so I just told my boss to do me a solid and let me leave at 12, she said yes of course and off I go. Went straight to Jiffy Lube to get and oil change, stopped by target to pick up a shirt, picked up some ice for the cooler (which had a bottle of UV cherry vodka, 1800 silver, 1.75 of pre-mixed margaritas, a bottle of Svedka vodka, and Bacardi rum), topped of the gas tank and we were on our way. We got on the freeway around 1:30pm, way ahead of schedule, and did 70-85 the entire way. We only made one stop in Barstow to grab a drink and top off the gas tank. We got to the Grandview Resort around 5:30pm. 4 hours, not bad at all. Walked up to her pops room, grabbed the keys and went right across the hall to our room. And wow! The rooms are really nice!

So we get settled in and change clothes in a snap because her pops said we’re meeting “uncle jimmy” at Margaritaville and we’re leaving in 15 minutes. That’s cool I thought to myself. We get to go out to the strip for a bit, come back to the room at about 10, it was 6:30 at the time, get ready and head straight to the palms..... So we finally leave 1 hour and 15 minutes later!!! I was pissed. So I decided to drive to try and move things along. Took about 15 minutes to get and park at Harrah’s. We then walked over to the Flamingo. We meet up with Jimmy at Margaritaville and head up to the third floor. We get to the top and it’s first come first serve seating! Luckily they have a host up there and a line for people to wait in. It’s about 8:30pm, I’m hungry, and I’m irritated, and start thinking that we’re barely going to make it to the stuff store to buy the wristbands.

At this point, Jimmy asks if we want to go to the bar with him (no one else besides Jimmy, Ashley and I drink). So we head to the bar and jimmy buys us a perfect margarita. BOMB! I think it has to be the best margarita I have ever had. We chatted, joked around, and finished our margaritas. We turn around and notice that the rest of the group was all ready sitting down and had ordered! We go to the table, check out the menus and order our food (The Cuban sandwich is delicious). Jimmy gets up and says, “I need another one, you guys want to come?” Our reply, “Of course!” So since he paid for the last round, I told Ash that we got to get his round.

So we order another round of Perfect Margaritas. I then order 3 shots of Patron and the bartender goes, “Well you guys are lucky”. He reaches down to the fridge and pulls out an ice cold brand new bottle of patron and pours us each a double! So we take our shot, start drinking our drinks and chat with the bartender for a while. We head back to the table and the food arrives shortly.



I’m feeling really good and buzzed. I asked Ash’s pops if he wanted a drink. He said no. No one else wanted a drink. So I ask kitty, pops wife, if she wanted a virgin pina colada (alcohol makes her sick). So I head back to the bar with Ash and order the drink. Bartender asks us if we want another round. Now, my logic was, we weren’t finished with our 2nd drink, but we are already at the bar and the bartender did ask us if we wanted another why round. He hooked us up earlier and will probably hook us up again… Why the hell not!?! Got another round of perfect margaritas and they were way stronger than the last round. We went back to the table, finished our food and then left to walk the strip with our drinks in hand. TBC…

We head down to the Bellagio to watch the Fountain show, now I’m still feeling good and happy. We watch the show and I’m ready to go play a little black jack. Nope! Pops wants to watch the next show too…. That’s cool I guess. It’s his pre-wedding day. Whatever I guess. That show finishes. I tell Ash lets go play Black jack. Nope! Pops wants to watch the next one too!!! I’m starting to get pissed and to make matters worse, I thought about the Palms and thought to myself, Shit! What time is it!?! It was around 11… I’m thinking to myself we can still make it if we leave right now… Nope… “Let’s go see the flower garden in the Bellagio”. We’re fucked, I said. We head inside, walk around, I’m pissed off and want to try and relax, so I go play the Star Wars slot machine. Didn’t win crap! Walked to the garden thing, meet up with them, and I tell ash that we have to go. So she, in a polite way, tells her dad to go out dancing with us. Which surprisingly he says lets go, pick somewhere to go in here….. We both laugh, which thinking now is cold because we pretty much laughed in his face, and told him we can’t go anywhere dressed like we were. Especially him! Dude was wearing swim trunks with a yellow t shirt, sox up to his knees and some crocks! So we continue to walk around and slowly I start herding everyone towards the exit. We get back to the car; I drive back to the hotel get up stairs, check the clock… 1 am… Too late to buy wristbands. I said screw it. Let’s try and make it tomorrow (Sat.), plus we’ll get to see Dj Z-Trip. We fill up the Jacuzzi tub and just relax and drink in the room the rest of the night. TBC...

Good report so far... unfortunate about Friday night, but I guess it was your girl's pop's weekend anyway. You should've just went to Studio 54 - I'm sure he'd still get in dressed like that!

Wow .. doing car maintenance the day of a Vegas trip? Thats a little too risky for me. I always do it atleast a week or two in advance to be on the safe side. Can't trust those mechanics.

Oh yea.. Dj Z-Trip is off the hook. I love his rock mash ups. Hopefully you got to see him.

So Saturday morning we wake up around 11. We get dressed and are about to head of to the palms to buy the wristbands, when her pops calls and wants us all to go to breakfast. Damn! So we head next door to South Point and eat at the buffet. It was ok. Better than other places I’ve ate at. After breakfast, I once again forget about the Palms and we start to gamble a bit. I personally prefer playing slots, they just seem more exciting. But I sat down at a machine and first pull, Bonus! $20.00. Next pull, Bonus! 50 free spins. About 2 minutes went by with winning and not, and then Bonus! $10.00. I don’t know what it is, but about 90% of the time, I pick the right machine. So I check the clock and it’s about 2:30 pm. We head back to the room and start getting things ready for the wedding. I iron my clothes and then play the waiting game. I decide to head out and hit up Lee’s Discount Liquor, which was greater because it was right down the street, to go buy a flask. Go in and ask for them and they had ran out. At this point I get a text from Cisco that we had a lurker and I had to take a shot. Told him I was on it. I Drive back towards the hotel and find another store. I picked up a plastic flask and a bottle of 1800. Get back to the room and change. Hook up the flask. Take a shot, though I forgot to take a picture, and we head on out.
We show up to the chapel and the ceremony was about 8 min. and that’s giving it a little extra. But it literally felt like I sat down and go right back up to walk out.


Funny. We drive down the strip in the limo and pick up appetizers at cozymels. Drive around some more and then head off to Fukudas for dinner.Had a couple of shots of Saki. Kind of nasty, yet not. Food was really good there. We then head off to the Haufbraus and that’s where things start to get really fun. People ordering shots.
Drinks, beer. Just none stop. Besides her pops and “step-mom”, everyone’s hand had a drink at all times. 2 rum cokes, 2 apple schnapps shots, 4 jager shots and a paddle to the ass later, I was feeling good! It was really fun.

We leave the Haufbraus around 11:30pm and I start getting a little excited because we actually have a chance to make it to the palms to get the wristbands. So we get to the hotel and Ashley starts talking to her cousins about going clubbing. I’m elbowing and pinching her discreetly telling her fuck them, let’s go. So we get up to the room because she wanted to change dresses. She changes, touches up her make up and we head on out. At this point it’s about 12:30 am. I’m driving as fast as I can. Tom Tom is taking forever to pick up a signal, so we wing it. I hit a dead end road. Turn around go down a few more blocks and make it to the palms. All I had to do was turn left onto Flamingo and go up a block. I was in such a rush that I didn’t bother looking ahead. So when I made the turn, traffic was backed up pretty bad. I look up at the Palms marquee, “Mariah Carey Live Tonight” Fuck! I said screw it. It was already 1:00 pm. And I was majorly disappointed. We headed down to Paris and Bally to gamble a bit. Got to love the Star Trek slot machine. We stayed out till about 5 am. Headed back to the room and knocked out. Next morning gathered our things and headed out around noon. Stopped by the M resort. It’s really nice. Didn’t win anything, at all. We stopped by primm for a bit. Doubled my money there. And the last stop was at Mad Greek.

That place is crazy good. Took off and got home around 7pm.
Not the best trip I had, but it was better than I thought it was going to be.

Ha! No, I'm sorry. I kept looking at cars around me. We always talked about stopping at the Mad Greek so we finally did this time. Wasn't in much of a rush to get home. Sorry.

Nice review. Ahh that sucks when you get held up. Palms next time for sure. The MAYDAY trip is going to be VEGAS on ADD with the AOD. Just the way I like it. 4-5 clubs a night. A stop in a drink and then onto the next one. haha
