Klub Kandahar Afghanistan Nightlife Review

Good morning forum members from the wonderful Kandahar Air Field in the beautiful Afghanistan. As LDW is shortly approaching I would like to wish you all a wonderful holiday as most of you will be visiting Las Vegas some for the first time. For those of you who are visiting for the first time I trust that you will use the knowledge gained from these forums to get the upper hand while in Vegas. For the members who have been to Vegas please be generous and show the noobies how to do it right.

Now for the nightlife review for Klub Kandahar. Well basically the club is located on Kandahar Air Field where G01 (General Order 1) is in effect so that means no alcohol so they have bottle service but it consists of water from there UAE called Dubujii it tastes a little like motor oil. The DJ is a kid with an apple notebook with an itunes playlist of everything you could imagine. Sometimes the siren goes off and informs of a possible Rocket attack and we all move into the bunker nearby. The style is either a desert military uniform or physical training uniform. And everything shuts down at around 11pm due to noise complaints.

I have to say this brings back memories. I was one of the very first people to ever hit up Klub Kandahar, back in January of 2002. I'm sure it has changed a lot since then, but I bet the guy/girl ratio is about the same.

Do they still have tent cities or are there trailers there for people now? I used to hate the Air Force guys, with their fancy air conditioned tents.

I remember building the very first PX there, which was basically one of our motor pool tents with some tables in it. I'm glad to hear they at least have sirens now for mortars too, that's a big improvement!

The lines are pretty long but I know a Senior host who works there. Everyones packin a M16, AK, or M9 so its got a little bit of a OPM pre Poetry feel to it.
