MGM Sandwich w/ Cheese and Lettuce on Wheat

I'll be arriving at the MGM in exactly 10 days and was wondering if anyone was successful with sandwiching over there. I heard it's one of the stricter hotels over there when it comes to upgrades. Anyone ever tried?

I tried it. Although I didn't actually do it the way you're suppose to (the actual sandwich), I held the $20 bill in my hand and leaned in towards the lady. I asked her if they had any complimentary upgrades, and she said they were completely booked. I asked if she could get us a room with a view, and she said our room already had a partial view of the strip. I said ok, pulled back my hands and put the money back in my pocket. NO GO. I think you have to find someone who looks happy and is smiling at everyone. I made the mistake of looking for the shortest line, and I found out why it was the shortest.

(BTW: we get to our room and we literally have to push our faces against the window just to the the Strat. Bullshit)

Damn.. well that sucks. Haha. Originally I had a room at the Monte Carlo but found this crazy promo at MGM which got me a standards room for a sat and sun night for $159. I figured MGM is more lively so i made the swtich.

We arrive at 8am that morning so we will be at the hotel by 9am. Any chances of me getting an early check in?

yea checkd the other deals but at the time I bookd this deal, this was the best one. Also comes with drink vouchers and a $25 dining credit to any restaurant over there. I also bookd a show to see KA and I'm planning to check out WR so I figured this will work out well since both are at the MGM.

i have stayed at MGM several times recently and they have always let me check in early. I just try to be extra friendly and nice to the person at the desk. The lines are crazy long and most of the people are giving the staff shit so I think a good attitude does wonders over there. Just my own opinion.

Yea depends which day too. Obviously if you check in on Fri/Sat its going to be a tough sell. On a day like Monday they are like "man this foo is a suckah for sandwiching me, I was gonna give it to him for free... "

Im staying at MGM on Monday. I will just ask without any cheddar since I know they aren't crowded.

Dnix - Yea your right. Pretty much a fat chance. But since Im arriving so early, checkin in is my main concern. I can leave the bags there til 3pm but such a hassle IMO.

its always worth a try. Ive never heard of a clerk keeping the money without something in return. they always allow you to turn down whats offered, and take your money back,

my trip's a week earlier than i thought.. i got my dates all messed up, looking up every single date on orbitz then on travelocity. hopefully sept 19th will be a quiet night
