I'd like to hear how it goes...it's something I'm considering (more likely the 1/2 marathon component though).

I do 5K's 3 times a week ... I'm training for a half first but good luck to you all that are planning on doing this, quite an accomplishment!

I thought this thread was going to be about a drinking marathon.

That heat is a killer for a marathon. If I run Chicago next year, I might do this the year after. I'm looking at this as well one year http://www.bataanmarch.com/ . I've done 20+ miles but not in that heat.

I'm only doing 3-5 miles 4-5 times a week right now though.

When I was there for the Las Vegas Marathon in 2007, they start around 6 am.

Also, because it's in late November / early December, it's relatively quite chilly (at night, sometimes you'll need a jacket).

It's really cool to see the strip completely closed off. Because no motorized traffic was allowed on the strip, I ended up at Rhino until 10:30 waiting for the strip to open up.

I agree, a true Las Vegas Marathon includes a Pool - Club - Afterhours spot every night your in town with under 4 hours of sleep a night. Enough of this running stuff. J/K
