Nightclub tiers...

I've been reading about what's considered top shelf nightclubs: XS, Tryst, Tao, etc...

Then there's what's considered Tier 3: Rain, etc...

Anyone have a subjective view of what's considered tier 1,2,3, etc.???

Personally, I have my favourites, but they're all different tiers (Pure, LAX, Tryst, Body English), then Ghostbar, Voodoo Lounge, Drais, XS, The Bank and then not much after that...

Well, its not written in stone anywhere or anything, but if your in the industry, then you know.

The clubs that throw the best parties are Tier 1 for sure, anyone in vegas will tell you that Tryst, XS, Tao and Prive (when open) throw the best parties.

The clubs with the lower than average bottle mins and dance floors that are never packed or filled with undesirables would be bottom or 3rd tier.

So tier 2 is everything in between. The Clubs in tier 2 are mostly older and may have lost their steam.

Any venue you pick in vegas will be fun, so I wouldn't worry about what tier club you hit.

We are talking about the party vibe, not the customer service. Tryst has kept its brand strong and is still considered a tier 1 club.

Rum Jungle is more of a food venue that transforms into a lounge. 150 bottle says it all.

54 is a place where older people go to relive the glory of the original 54. Tabu rides 54s coattails

Christian Audigier is closing down soon.

Yes, Pure in its hay day was the #1 club in vegas (granted there were only 10 or so venues open at the time), but when the managing partners left to create prive and the IRS raided them, they lost steam.

A club is only as good as its Marketing, Promotions and Hosting team, so when key employees leave, the vibe can be completely different.

Take Rain for example. In 2003 that club was it, they place to be, but after a good run, they lost steam as clubs like Pure, Tao and Tryst opened up. 1 year ago, they added Paul Oakenfold and this spring DJ AM and now they are back to being a player in the game.

How does Prive sneak into the tier1? I don't think it was ever tier 1 quality...

Tabu isn't that bad, but yes its probably between 2 and 3 because its so small.

tabu def is not a nightclub, its really just a little lounge! I agree though Ive always had good times there, it put it on top for lounges

I agree. Tabu is an ultra lounge. A great place to go when you don't want to do the huge mega sized clubs.

I was wondering the same thing, but Ive never been there. I know no one has ever recommend Prive on this site for Fri or Sat night. Im sure hes a little biased, and you cant blame him. We all would be.

Prive gets a lot of complaints because of the attitude of the staff, esp. the door staff. I the eye of the owners, its not about customer service, but image. I can tell you that even if your on the guestlist or have a table, if you dont look hot, they will ignore you til the cows come home. with that being said, prive does have the most expensive light and sound system on the strip (idk if xs beat them, that info was from last summer). It is also a club that caters more to table customers.

The line issue is true, I was ignored by the chic with the clipboard when I was out there in March. Left a sour taste in my mouth even though I've never actually been inside.

Does the hot refer to guys and girls?
