So after all the hype of thinking I'm going to get to meet up with my fellow JCers on LDW, I get shot down from cloud 9 straight to crap. As i've told some of you, my reason for originally planning on going to Vegas on LDW is because my girls dad is marrying his mail order bride. He has now officially set in stone by reserving rooms and the wedding. Problems start here.
He is going to have the wedding at the Monte Carlo on Sat, Sept. 12, at 5:30 p.m. He reserved rooms at the Grandview Resort which is right on Las Vegas Blvd., but 7 miles away from all the action! Which isnt that bad, but it's a little ridiculous. $100.00 a night. I could have found something on the strip for $100.00 a night. I'm even willing to stay at IP just for the sake of being in the middle of it all. On the bright side, he is paying for the rooms.
So on friday, the plan is to leave LA around 12 and get there around, and I'm only assuming, getting in at around 4-5p.m. Check in, relax a few hours, get dressed and head off to the Palms. Will probably end up getting the wristbands and kill the night there.
Saturday is pretty simple up to a certain point. Get up, eat, see what her pops wants to do before the ceremony. Do the wedding thing and... This is where I need your help. He's thinking of having dinner at the Hofbräuhaus... I dont think so. I love that restaurant, but to go there after you just got married is a little, well, ghetto. So I need some suggestions. I'm thinking somewhere nice, but nothing too expensive.
Also, The average age of the people going, not including myself and my girl, is around early 50's. This dude is leaving it up to us to figure out what we want to do. But I can't do what I want to do. He said he's down for clubbing, but this guy only listens to oldies and the Eagles, which is cool, but he's not goling to enjoy the music that is played at any of the clubs. Period! Ths is a fact. He doesn't drink. I think everyone else does. So I was thinking maybe a ultra lounge. But im thinkin the issue is going to be the same with the music. Where to go? Throw me a bone here guys. If you need more info just ask. This is going to be an interesting weekend.
