We are gonna be there the same weekend of the fight. Any idea of what to expect? Would this draw the same amount of people as a holiday weekend?

Fight night (boxing or UFC) weekends are big - expect some crowds at the major clubs, especially if they're running any sort of afterparties there. Getting around just after the fight can be a hassle as well (at least it was for me last month for UFC 100).

Make your reservations early, put a credit card down where ever possible, and try to arrive before the fight gets out.

Also avoid the host casino for the fight

From my experience, do not go anywhere near the casino where the fight is taking place. It can take up to 2 hours to get a cab after a big fight. Pain in the ass! But Vegas is always electric on fight night....wish I was there to go to the fight. Marquez is gonna beat Pretty Boy's ass!

I disagree. Definitely go to the casino (MGM) the night of the fight. Its electric inside the casino before and after.

Just don't try to leave in the cab line right afterwards. It will be extremely long. Plan your club/nightlife/dinner in that area so you can walk (Mandalay, Luxor, Bellagio, etc).
