Tip - How much?

It's been awhile since I've been on this board, but I'm leaving for Vegas this Wednesday and I need some expert advice.
I'm going with one other guy and plan on hitting XS. The question is how much should I tip one of the guys at the door to get in? Last November I was able to tip $50 at Tryst for both of us on the weekend and got comped admission. I considered that a great deal. I understand XS is pretty tough to get into on the weekends, so I don't want to insult the guy with a low offer, but I also don't want to spend money on a tip that I could be using on drinks later! Should I play it safe and just offer $100 for both of us and hope that's enough? What do you think???

I'm sure a C note would definately be enough for the 2 of you. Something I saw someone write sometime ago was to scope out the scene around 5-6 when their setting up and talk to whoever's at the door. Ask if he's going to be there that night and if he is if he can get ya in with comped entrance and slip him like a 20 or so and that you'll have more for him later. Also be sure to get a number.

I wouldnt offer an amount. Id let them give me a number. And if your really concerned about it, follow cisco's advise.

At XS monday night i tipped my host i met outside, but he had someone else seat us. Tip that guy too? I through him 20 but wasnt expecting to tip anyone else besides the security guard.
