    Hey, folks,

I'm heading back to Vegas in just over a week. I'm going to be by myself for a couple of days before some friends arrive, and I wanted to go old school at one point. When I was down in March, I hung out downtown on Fremont for an early portion one Saturday night and the vibe was pretty good. We had reservations at Pure, so needless to say, we couldn't stick around. My question for you guys is is there anything good going on in the downtown area on Thursday night? Any help would be much appreciated!!

    Cheers.
    I'm on a horse.

That "club" at Golden Nugget is usually open most nights. I think it's called "Gold Diggers". It's really not much. A small bar, with club or live music, and a small crowd that's nothing like a major club. It's really small, and nothing like the clubs on the strip.

If you're looking for that club/party atmosphere, there's no way you can be that close to the strip in Vegas and not go. But if you're looking for just that touristy, "I've got a few bucks in my wallet and I'm looking for a cheap good time", you're probably best off just enjoying the Fremont Street Experience.

Depending on the age range. I know the 40+ folks appreciate the Fremont Experience a lot more. I actually went down there for the Paradise Buffet at one of those places and you get a sh*t load of food for like $8 bucks. Wouldn't say its Bellagio quality, but it was still good.

Lol, agreed - you'll probably see quite a few older folk, but the night I hung out there, there were a lot of 20 & 30-somethings on the Fremont Street Experience from 7 to 11pm. (The rest of the night is hazy.) A lot of 'em from Canada, too.

Paradise Buffet is the buffet located in the Fremont casino - a crap load of food, for sure. Main Street Station and California also have buffets that cater to the large Hawaii groups that go to Vegas. They buy a package for like $600 that includes 4 nights, free shuttle and free food to several hotels downtown.

If you spot their coupons downtown, you could probably offer 'em a couple bucks in exchange for their coupon that they won't use and get a buffet for even cheaper (if that's even a concern). Plus, you get a buffet of food you'd normally find in Hawaii.

Hey, y'all, easy on the Canuck bashing...though we can take it. Thanks for the input, people. I appreciate. I was thinking maybe I was missing something when I was down in March. Well, I will pre-game it down there for damn sure. I will probably hit Tryst later on. Thanks again, guys!!
