At the very least, could I pull it off at a more fashion-forward place like Body English?
Hey, i think white shoes are ok..but when i think of white shoes especially dress shoes i think of 2004-05..thats when alot of people were wearing white dress shoes..now i think white dress shoes are kinda of lame..with a skinny tie your better off wearing some creative recreations, pf flyers, or even some vans oh oh cant forget the chucks..thats a bit more trendy especially if your rocking the justin timberlake look with the skinny tie..keep the whole fit skinny or fitted..dont wear a baggy dress shirt or baggy jeans, that would KILL tha look man..spray some water protector over the shoes so they dont get stained..you gotta make some trips to bathroom just in case they get stepped on but trust me its worth it when a HOTT chick digs the fitter..and all guys know how much cleans shoes that match a fitter means to a girl..

you got a point..they might or might not be wearable another time..BUT white shoes keep you on your game..you try not to bump into people..you watch were your going..your more aware of your surroundings cuz you dont wanna be stepped on..AND you might get lucky and have a HOTT chick step on you and then she feels sorry cuz she messed up the clean white shoes haha and then she takes a look at the full fitter, where if she wouldnt of stepped on the clean WHITE SHOES it wouldnt of happened lol so you just might get that open door from a compliment or that apology..haha it can happen..you just gotta make it work in your favor..

I have to agree with some of the parts from above. It really is 2005 to wear them (just being honest), but there is nothing wrong with them either. I LOVE the skinny tie idea, that will set you apart right there.

Another way to stand apart is to be polite and not overly drunk. All the girls will have had to deal with drunk guys the whole trip so someone who is fun and not three sheets to the wind will up their sexy!

Make sure to take care of your shoes!

Would a look from 2004-2005 be considered retro then? Retro can usually work.

Not old enough.... although your correct retro is cool, that is where the skinny tie comes in!

I totally understand not wanting to wear the same stuff everyone else is, but white shoes are so difficult to maintain!!!! Especially when everyone is stepping on everyone else...

Wear what's comfortable and what makes you feel good. Confidence will get you farther than any tie or pair of shoes.

If the white shoes are what do it for you, rock em out.

*DISCLAIMER* I would not wear them myself. This was not an endorsement.

Interesting comments, especially from the fairer sex. I had no idea about the 2005 thing. And I'm not trying to flirt with the margins of the dress code simply for the sake of doing so. There are also aesthetic concerns. I'd hate to get a thumbs up from the doorman and a thumbs down from the ladies. Then there are the practical issues of cleanliness that so many of you pointed out.

Thanks for the input, everyone. It seems to me that they might be more trouble than they're worth.
The only winning move is not to play.

+1 and you know you were begging me for my shoes.

honestly, from a woman's point of view, a man's shoes are the last thing i notice about him....i wouldn't worry about it!
