First time in Vegas; was there on the weeked of the 17th/18th/19th...my review =)
Hey everyone,
So I'm new to this site, definitely new to posting on this forum, and was a total newcomer to the Vegas nightlife. My name is Julia (...and I'm the infamous paparazzi woman with all the pictures that I have NO clue how to load because they're all 1MB+ in size and the limitation is about 100kb per image...so if anyone's got any tips, I'm all ears).
My friend (Prada/Thalia) and I decided to go to Vegas; it was a trip that we'd been planning for quite some time. She found this website and made friends with quite a few people from here (if I knew all of your screen names, I'd mention them, but being a complete newbie, I have no idea so please forgive me)... we all wound up meeting up and I have to say that I had the absolute time of my life with you all!
I'd like to first say thank you from the bottom of my heart to Jack Colton...I'm sure you all now know him personally if you've partied with him before. Jack, I got a chance to speak to you briefly at Tao and at the Bank although I'm not quite sure if you remember me, but I know I didn't get a chance to thank you in person...so I'll do it here. This trip was absolutely phenomenal...thank you thank you thank you for EVERYTHING.
So we met the guys we spent the majority of our time with partying (Wallace/David/Nassau) on the first night in Vegas...we stayed at Planet Hollywood.
Side note: YOU GUYS ARE F****ING AMAZING!
We started off our night by going to V Bar (The set up of V bar was really pretty inside) where we grabbed drinks, mingled a little bit and quickly wandered off to Tao. Apparently V bar (and the rest of the bars/clubs in Vegas) don't adhere to the 1oz shot/per drink. NO NO...they FREE POUR. Um....that's UNHEARD OF in Toronto...so you can imagine my amazement when I asked for a Vodka Lime and got a GLASS FULL of Grey Goose with a lime wedge in it. I laughed...and got immediately tipsy lol ... I knew right then and there that my time in Vegas would be EPIC. And that turned out to be an understatement =)
Thursday night. Tao: The line up was INSANITY. However, thanks to JC, JC's crew, we got in like a hot knife through butter. The looks on people's faces outside the club can be captured with one word: JEALOUSY. (Again, thank you JC!)
So we get in to Tao...this place was ASTOUNDING. I've NEVER seen such a set up in my life! The interior design was absolutely amazing...rose petals in (clay?) bathtubs...psychotic beading on the walls, crazy lights everywhere...an INSANE dance floor that had multiple levels...it was clean, it looked AMAZING on the inside. The people that worked there (servers/bartenders) were exceptionally friendly...DAMN good looking and really accommodating.
The crowd at Tao was BOMB! Everyone was there to have a good time, the atmosphere screamed of a ridiculously lavish party, the music was phenomenal, the DJ they had knew what they were doing, the go-go dancers are HOTTT, the dancing was like no other, people were dressed really well (although some got away with more casual attire (ahem....lol you know who you are, I've read the threads
), we kept the drinks flowing all night long, got ridiculously drunk (somehow it didn't end up sloppy though), had the most amazing time and called it a night at around way past a reasonable bed time...then again, we're in Vegas...and as far as I noticed, time did not exist. It stood still but I felt like I was flying.
We left Tao (my girl friend and dnix)…wound up at Planet Dailies…grabbed some grub, randomly found Nassau annihilated at some table and I decided to be superswoman and carry his behind to his room to make sure he was in one piece. On the way there, I got vomit all over my legs (thanks, D; you’re right, I’ll never forget that). Took that in stride, literally, got Nassau upstairs on my shoulders (my ankles still haven’t recovered by the way lol) wound up chilling for a cigarette and called it a night.
Did I mention I have yet to sleep at this point since we left Toronto? Yea we’d been awake for 2 days straight. Barely slept. Went to Ditch at the Palms on the Friday, …swam, drank, got slightly burnt, died of the heat, met a BUNCH of awesome people, called it a day.
Friday night we partied local at a place called the Cadillac Ranch. Um, they had a mechanical bull. Helllloooo rodeo lol. Yea, Julia + a few bottles of liquor + a mechanical bull and the free spirit I brought with me to Vegas wound up in my riding that thing and getting thrown the hell off. Bad news bears…although everyone we partied with found it pretty hysterical to see my large ass get LAUNCHED the hell off that thing. That’s all I have to say about that one lol.
Saturday afternoon we hit up Wet Republic at the MGM…met some people, drank, didn’t swim, died of the heat, drank some more, called it a day.
Saturday night we went to Tryst. Um. OFF THE HOOK! The place was BEAUTIFUL…they have a waterfall! WHAT?! Who does that inside a club?...Tryst does. The music was insane there…the crowd was also insane..and I think I was as insane as it gets. I wound up on some little ledge between the connecting portions of the booths dancing my ass off like this was the last day I’d be alive. Sweat up a storm, made the ladies laugh their asses off (you ladies know who you are…sorry I don’t know your screen names on here but I’ll never forget you guys ), almost fell off a bunch of times, got hit on by random men (some hot, some resembling the troll that lives under the bridge in fables. Ah Vegas lol.
Um…also, they had a stripper pole. I didn’t even attempt that one and I’m sure people were grateful for that lol…but other people did. Some failed miserably in their struggle to appear “sexy,”..other ladies got the job DONE! Hats off to whoever managed to climb that thing, stay up there, make it look sexy, make it look easy, and didn’t fall on her face in the process. I wonder if men threw money lol…I guess I’ll have to go back next time I’m in Vegas just to check that out. Yep, I’m going back to Vegas…Lord be with me cuz I don’t even want to go into how physically DAMAGED I still am.
Afer Tryst, Prada and I wound up chilling with these 2 guys we met there…who by the way were pretty damn awesome.
Got some more drinks…exchanged life stories, went back to our hotel to attempt a semi-recovery for the upcoming last night in Vegas that we’ll probably NEVER forget. I know I won’t, that’s for sure.
Sunday came. The thought of Rehab crossed our minds…we looked at each other, laughed and decided to go shopping instead. After 5 hours + at the Fashion Show Mall, damaged knee caps from all the walking, we went back to the hotel to get ready for the Bank. Again, this night would not have happened had it not been for JC. God I could kiss you. We started off the night by predrinking at Caramel. This is a bar, people. People don’t dance at bars. I did
. Of course, right? It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t bust some sort of move when everyone else was mingling, socializing and getting their drink on. Well I got my drink on, my mingle on, and clearly my dance on because it’s what I do.
The bank…RIDICULOUS line ups. Apparently you’re not getting in there unless you have a table. Clubs aren’t like this in Toronto, none that I’ve EVER been to, actually and that includes Venezuela, Greece, Romania, Germany, Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican…it goes on. We stepped inside this place and my jaw dropped. If you’ve never been to the Bank, your trip to Vegas isn’t complete without going. I only say this because I went, lost my damn mind and want to recommend it to everyone who reads this (if you’re not tired as hell and your eyes haven’t crossed from this ridiculously long review). Back to it…
JC’s crew was huge…they got a table and the party started. We met some more people, hit the middle of the dancefloor, did our thing and I literally thought I was in a dream when I saw the bubbles. Maybe it’s a girl thing…but they had millions and millions of tiny bubbles being blown everywhere in this club, it was PHENOMENAL. If I figure out how to upload a photo of this, you’ll see what I’m talking about. The DJ was out of his mind he was so good and clearly that jump-started my heart and I was just COMPELLED to get up on some side counter behind our booth and dance up a storm like it was going out of style. I have pictures of that too lol. They had crystal drooping chandeliers in this place…lights flashing (straight up out of a Kanye song), the dancers were beautiful, the servers/bartenders were exceptionally liberal with drinks at the bar, we got destroyed. I don’t think my system will recover from the ridiculous amount of partying we did in that city for the next month. At least.
We called it a night at about 4:30am, drank a couple at the casino, went back to the hotel, packed up our things, said goodbye to the guys (Nassau, David and Wallace) booked it to the airport, sleepless, exhilarated, charged, physically drained, got severely delayed by the plane, barely made it to the connecting flight in Dallas, got back to Toronto, and now all we can talk about….my friends, is Vegas.
Thank you again to all the people we met for making this trip the most amazing experience of my life thus far.
