Events on Martin Luther King Day 18/01/2010?

Hi guys,

From London, and new to the forum but been to Vegas a fair few times before and always had an awesome time! Never visited in January before though, and was wondering if anyone on here know's what it's like then?

I notice you guys in the US have a bank holiday on 18th January 2010, will there be any special parties or events at the bars and clubs? I have been on Labor Day and Memorial Day before but don't know if it gets as busy and as many big nights on?

Any tips or advice appreciated...

it will be busier than normal on MLK weekend BUT it wont be anything like MDW or LDW, but you will have a good crowd

Thanks. Various websites seem to say the temperature doesn't get above about 15C (high 50s) in January, is that the case?

ive been to vegas in every month and its really hit or miss in dec jan and feb....it is the high desert so at night it def gets cold and during the day there are some days where its typically in the 50-60s but iven been there in dec and jan when it got to the mid 70s during the day but at night it will def get chilly

I guess because the humidity is horrible here, Vegas weather never really effects me. Ive been when it was 30' and sleeting, and I was walking around in short sleeves. I wear long sleeve in anything below 65' here in Houston.

yeah I hear you!! im the same way, cause our winters suck here 45' is like summer to me, ill be roaming around in shorts and people look at me like im crazy
