  • Upgrading Your Room When You Check In

I see in some posts that when they check in they actually upgrade from their regular room to a tier higher by way of a 20$ bill given in to the person checking you in. Im wondering how exactly you approach the person and what do you say so as to give you the best chance of scoring a better room and not be embarassed or rejected?

Ill be staying at the mirage this weekend so any tips at the Mirage like what time and best day is it to go to jet? and is cravings any good?

    thanks in advance.

I was at Mirage last friday (07/10), so let me tell you what's going on over there.

I don't know if this is because of the summer or what, but they have a lot of new people there that are being partnered up with more experienced workers, and there was also a manager walking around from one new trainee to another. So before you get in a line, I'd suggest you take a good look at their name tags, and make sure it doesn't say "I'm new....but i'm trying." And then get into the line that has an experienced worker behind the desk and try your $20 sandwich between your CC & ID.

Now when it comes to JET, I loved it. JET was popping last friday, but that might be because of Trevor Ariza's presence, with whom I had a drink and we talked about the NBA for a whole 20 seconds.

If you want to get in for free, here's what you do. Go to the concierge desk that is right across from the check-in counter and talk to Brandon, and tell him you're staying at the hotel and ask him if he can get you on the guest list. I asked him this, and he got me & 2 of my buddies on the guest list, and we got in for free.

Note: JET opens @ 10:30, so we went down to the club at 10:00 and stood in line, and we were the first ones in the "invited guests" line and we were one of the first in the club. Others that showed up at the front of the club at the same time as us but had to stand in the regular line had to wait about 2 hours to get into the club.

P.S: After you get into the club, go into one of the two smaller rooms, the bar is less packed, and the bartenders are hotter.

Every site I read with Reviews/Reports always has really low % of success for MGM. Which is where I am staying sept 14-17th. We have a Celeb Spa suite already.. but still. Grrrr

No I actually did try the $20 sandwich, and the chick just gave it back to me while looking at her manager.

OR.... to do both rooms at once and hand over a $50 sandwich.

                    Any thoughts?
I'd say go together and kick em that fitty!

Some of the packages people book come with lines passes to clubs. I've heard of people getting these by slipping a $20, although from the various Vegas websites, it seems like the $20 doesn't go as far as it used to.

If it works, it's definately a good deal cause you usually have to pay at least an extra $20 a night so 20 for however amount of nights is not a bad deal!
