  • A few XS questions

I just want to thank everyone first for all their input on these forums. It's nice to find a place where you can get solid nightlife info...

Anyway, I'm headed to XS's industry night in a couple weeks. We're looking at about 12 people and several bottles, all my treat. Is it in poor taste to ask for the bill immediately after the initial bottles/mixers are brought out? I don't mind tipping above the standard 20% to keep the waitress happy, but if anyone in my party wants Red Bull and Fiji, they can walk their freeloading ass to the bar.

How are the cabanas now that it's summer? I was at XS back in March and they were empty. I know they're far from the dance floor, which actually isn't too bad since we prefer not to scream over music to speak with each other, but is the cabana area now attracting a good crowd? We wouldn't want to be isolated up there.

Finally, I know Sunday nights are a pool party, but what about Mondays? Me and a few friends are thinking of wearing our swim trunks underneath our club garb and jumping in at the end of the night. Think we'll get 86'd?

Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance for your input.

If you're willing to pay for several bottles and tip the waitress so well, why wouldn't you pay for the red bull and Fiji, too?

Personally, I think you'll like tools if you take your clothes off and jump in the pool in bathing suits, but that's just me. And you will very likely be escorted out, making a bad situation worse.

As for the cabanas, they were completely sold out on a Friday night in May. Not sure how it will be on industry night. I would try to get one as close to the inside of the club as you can so you get the best of both worlds. The further away you get, the less it feels like you're in a club and you lose some of the vibe/energy.

I just got back from vegas and went to XS' industry night on Monday.

        - The cabanas were all roped off - no one had tables outside or in cabanas. All table service was inside, at about 60% capacity.

        - There is no swimming on Mondays, they only allow "dips" in the pool on Sunday evenings, per my amazing bartender and guestlist hookup, Alejandra.

The only clubs open on Monday (that are worthwhile) are XS, JET, and Prive. XS is probably the most busy; by midnight it was packed inside and out.

At XS the cheapest bottle is $475, and on busy nights the rule of thumb is 1 bottle / 3 people, however being a Monday, they may waive that.
