Working on JC.com 3.0 and trying to settle on user interactivity. I don't really like the idea of having a post a comment feature for each of the guides, but am thinking of creating permanent threads on the forum for each of the main sections and reviews on the site.

Example: A reader is checking out the profile for Tao Nightclub, and can click a link within it to come to a specific Tao Nightclub thread to post questions, thoughts, and check out others.

What do you think? Yes / no? Any other suggestions for interactive features to include in the main site?

Its a good idea, but when you think about it in most of these posts we go on so many tangents and start talking about other clubs in posts that their not meant for. I think if that happens then people may miss out on the information thats being talked about for whatever club their looking for. (I dont know if that made sense the way it came out). But I guess its a good way to introduce people to the forums.

Definitely a great idea, specifically because it would cut down on a lot of the duplicate messages on the forums. How often do we get a Tao/XS/Rain on XDay post? Pretty close to daily. This way they'd be able to get into the thread, see the posts about how good it it is on whatever day, and be good.

Also, maybe some sort of user review ability. Not necessarily commenting, but a drop down of some sort that let you rate a club between 1 and 5 or 1 and 10, so that people can get an idea of what it's like.

Maybe give it a couple options like "Did you use bottle service yes/no, Did you get on the guestlist yes/no, did you use the hosts listed on jackcolton.com yes/no, how would you rate your overall experience, 1-10"

Over a long enough time period the data will give people an idea of how the club is for the different sectors of the club going populace.

Like, for example, Prive on Monday was absolutely amazing, but had I not gone in with your group, maybe it wouldn't have been so great. So this way we can kind of get a gauge on how a club is from everyone from the bottle service pimp to the dude that is braving the lines.

Agreed. I think a permanent thread that link from the guides is the better way to go versus having a comment feature for each of the guides.

Keebler makes a good point about the threads getting off topic, but that would happen in either situation.

I like this idea too. Having some sort of template for reviews is always very helpful when users are looking for info about specific clubs. The more information you can get in a consistent format, the better.

I agree with AK as well about the small review section. That i think would be helpful to people.

I've just always though it would be a good idea, because there's definitely been times that I've got a club and had some sort of hook up and had a great time, whether it's bottle service, or guest listing, or even just knowing someone in line, and had an amazing time, but at the same time known if I'd have had to wait in line or anything like that it woulda been miserable.

Nothing against the clubs in Vegas, but we all know money and connections talk, so maybe some way for the less spendy people to find places to go.

I don't know, just seems like it could open everything up to a wider audience.

1) The Ugly Truth About Independent Hosts: Describes why you see so many ads for these services, the difference between hosts and indy hosts, the "hustle," and what to avoid if you are looking for one.

2) Detailed breakdown of their services with when it might make sense to use them and when you are better off going at things yourself (with links to guides and reservation listings for each, I seriously went through most of their sites and broke it all down, haha)

3) List of reputable indy hosts / hosting companies.

4) List of indy hosts to avoid.

I think if the review threads get off topic a moderator should clean them up to keep them on track and easy for new users.
