  • Proper Bottle Service Etiquette

I am posting this thread because sometimes I realize that people who are new to the whole "Bottle Service" experience sometimes don't really know how to act. Yes you may be spending in upwards of 500 for a bottle of Alcohol that costs One Tenth the price at the corner "One Stop Liquor" but that is due to the fact that you are paying for Service. Security Service, Floor Cleaning Service, and Reserved Space Service. Now you need to realize that you need to be respectful of the person taking on the financial responsibility of the table ie "Credit Card and ID on File" . You need to make sure that he/she is compensated for their generosity. When I am a guest at a table I usually slip them a discreet bill and give them a simple thank you. The gesture will be appreciated and will let them know you are not a "Leech". And if you are paying for a table no matter how ridiculously wealthy you or your company is make sure that you make sure the ViP Hosts know that you will go elsewhere if you can find a better deal. I always like to make the Hosts Compete for my business.
Let the Host know you chose them over another.

If you want to slow your bottle down. Just put a cup over the top of it. This is a little Bottle Veteran Trick that says my bottle is capped no one can drink without my permission. For those who poured themselves a stiff drink have them refill it from the "Endless Carafe" of juice on the table.

**DO NOT ATTEMPT POURING IF YOUR A CLUMSY DRUNK*** No one like the person who knocks the 500 dollar bottle of GREY GOOSE off the table.

You can always ask the bottle service girl for some more lemons or lemon juice and make your lady friends some lemon drops.

So be cool. Be Comfortable. and Push the Envelope.

the real "proper bottle service etiquette"

Hey check this out..the proper bottle service etiquette may be giving the person responsible for the tab some cash, but wouldn't you know the person, so i don't see the need of using the word "tipping". I don't understand that. It is nice to let your group know that you are no leech and that you can pull your own weight, i totally agree with that. Hey whats with not even mentioning of tipping the host. chappstick mentioned he likes to have the hosts compete for his business. HAHA we are talking about vegas right??? Any VIP HOST that works for a hot or new venue is honestly not gonna bargain deals on the phone with you just to get you to their venue. Any person wanting to bargain means that they are penny pinching and trying to save a buck, which means in "industry terms" no tip for the host and the bare minimum for the cocktail server..LAME..the best bet would to contact the host talk bottle minimums and not prices, look the prices up online if you have to. Talk money..let the host know you'll take care of them with a very good tip 200-300 or even more depending on the size of the party. The host will most likely then be willing to offer you some sweet bottle deals if not a better table in a better area of the club. If you take the others guys advice you'll have a table next to the exit door or bathroom and you wont have a security guard and you'll get a waitress that has already been informed that the host had a hard time on the phone with you and you sound cheap, therefore her attitude is set on what type of tip she may get, believe me this happens. Any host willing to bargain deals on the phone without a guarantee of a for sure tip out is a clear sign of a dead or slow venue. So tipping the host goes along way. So Always tip the host and most hosts will not walk you in until the tipped is received at the door, so have your money ready, don't be scrambling around arguing with your friends who didn't pitch in for the tip in front of the club, be ready and have cash in hand and do a proper handshake where the money is given. Take care of the security guard taking care of your section and cocktail server because you better believe the "vip host" does ask to see if they were taking care of. If they are not taken care of the host looks kinda bad for booking your cheap ass. This is bottle service people, this means you know that your paying for the area, service, privacy, and attention that your looking to get, so don't be cheap or else you will be next to the exit door behind a wall where nobody can see you. Have fun and be respectful to the staff as well as the people around you and always DRESS NICE..and always remember TIPPING is the key to proper bottle service etiquette.

please explain. I tipped my host $500 for a bad ass table, which I stole from someone, cause we didnt have a reservation.

I also tipped my bartender $200, because we had about 8 peeps drinking on the tab for about 5 hrs, and my tab was $38. Id loved to hear how he didnt deserve that.

Hmmm, I agree that you should take care of your host and stff but to not have a pointed conversation with the host about price I have to believe would set someone up to get hustled when they get there. Anyone agree or disagree?

I agree with this, UNLESS its on a major holiday weekend or if it was the way dnix handled it without a ressie.....for instance, hypothetically speaking uejjap takes the approach that a host never deserves a tip of between 200-300 and he has a table that night and dnix comes along and says i dont have a ressie BUT Ill give you $500 to get a great table.....uejjap just lost his table, unfortunately thats the game....and like they say "dont hate the player hate the game"
