Sorry for the delay in updates. I needed a few days to gather my thoughts, rehydrate and rest.
Thursday: I get in fairly early and decide to rent a car and driver for an hour and get a better feel for the layout of the town since I missed it on my last trip.
Checked into Mandalay Bay and went for a quick lunch at the buffet (meh). Then a nice nap to recover from the trip in. After pre gaming it in the room for a bit, I decided to go do some walking around and figure out a game plan.
I ended up tired and intoxicated from having a wild first half of the week back home. Ended up at Mix for abit, that little bar in the center of Mandalay Bay's casino, then the Foundation Room which was fun, but basically a replay of my last trip so somewhat nostalgic. End of night.
Friday: To my total astonishment, the Supercross race and the Indy race was going on this past weekend. I was so busy trying to get ready to leave and get things worked out for the 48 Hour Fest that I missed those huge pieces of information. I ended up at the Indy Car fan zone for awhile watching freestyle MX and checking out the cars.
Later ended up going to the Golden Steer for dinner and had an amazing meal. Very deceiving from the exterior. On the way back we are stuck in traffic and I hear the distinct sound of high revving race engines... Sure enough the Indy Cars were having a parade down the strip and I was missing it. I threw my cabbie some cash and jumped out in the middle of the traffic jam, jumping a fence or two to get to the strip. Missing the tail end of it
I get back to Mandalay Bay and I go get re-dressed since I could use a fresh set of digs after chasing Indy Cars down the strip through the street and jumping fences.
Shortly after getting ready and having a few more cocktails I end up heading to the House of Blues for the Steel Panther show and the 48 Hour Fest pre party. The show was awesome and had a blast hanging out at the place. Later ended up at the Foundation room (again) and ended up sitting at some random people's table doing shots with them. Kind of hazy after that.
Saturday: All action, all day/night. Ended up going to the Stratosphere and had a hell of a time. Met two dudes from North Dakota that were ready to do some drinking and ride some rides.
Left the stratosphere and decided to try to hit the Supercross race at Sam Boyd. This was my second time to see a Supercross event and let me tell you guys. If you have never been to one, go to the next one you can. They really do put on a hell of a show.
Made it back to the Mandalay and got in touch with Darryl from here on the forums, but was going to try to go to Marquee. I actually made it there, and greased one of the guys to skip the line $100 before paying the cover. Big mistake. I absolutely hated my experience. It was so damned crowded and the security guys were so rude. You couldn't get through the walk ways without feeling like you were a concentration camp prisoner and being crammed into everyone around you. While still being poked, prodded, and pushed by security trying to keep the crowds moving. I understand it was a busy night but damn, way to make a customer not want to do further business there that night. On top of that I somehow managed to get lost on the way out and stuck in the convention center
Afterwards, Darryl tempted me to come on over to the Luxor and I subsequently had a blast at the place with him. We later went to some after hours spot which I would have never even tried to head to or know about. Again, I had a very good time and thoroughly enjoyed how I was treated by both Darryl and Richie.
Sunday: Wow. What a day this turned out to be. My main objective was to make it to the Indy Car race. That turned into a nightmare. I made it to the track right after the crash that killed Dan Wheldon. I knew it had to be bad when I drove up and there was no engine sound and the gate wouldn't even scan my ticket. By the time I could make it in to the stands word was already spreading that Dan Wheldon had passed. Talk about a nightmare.
Left the track, killed some time. Then met up with Darryl and Richie for some quick sushi. Headed to the 48 Hour Festival finally to see Godsmack and Korn and damn what a show. I have seen both bands multiple times at multiple venues and they still played probably one of the best shows I have ever seen.
Made it back to the room and decided to go for an all nighter was I was supposed to be flying out the next afternoon. Met up with the guys from the stratosphere and headed to the Cathouse where I am sure I made a fool of myself all while Darryl and Richie really went out of their way to accommodate us. I think we ended up at a strip club, but by this time 4 nights of boozing was catching up with me. Things were pretty hazy and I am sure I went full retard at some point from the way my bank accounts look. lol
Monday: So fucked up, I didnt get back to the hotel till after 9:30. Missed my flight home. Had to take a later flight and fly into a different airport.
Synopsis: Ready for another trip to LAS VEGAS!!
