  • Tao Bottle Service -the good & the bad

Folks - just got back after a crazy week in LV --- viva LV!

Thought I'd write about our experience with Tao bottle service, since the saga started here on this forum. I had posted a request for hosts to respond if they were willing to do a 1 bottle minimum - since we were just 2 people. I heard back from a couple of hosts at Tao saying yeah sure! come on over! so we did go there...

    The Bad:
On getting there, we were told we'd get a table at the restaurant level, but can go up to the nightclub whenever we wanted! I reached out to the host we went through, and he said, "yeah - that's what you get for 1 bottle". We told him that while we appreciate that now, it would have been helpful if he had shared that with us in advance, rather than assume that it was "such common knowledge". We felt like we fell prey to the errors & omissions game...
Anyhow, we decided to buy 2 bottles to be upstairs on the club level!!

    The Good:
Once we got up to the main level, I must emphasize that we had a fantastic experience at Tao! The servers were great, polite and understanding. There was none of that "keep tiiping me all night behavior" that you might expect in some clubs! In fact, when I tried tipping them, our servers were gracious and insisted that it was not required!
Even better, when they had to switch out our servers, the next bunch was as good! The night was all fun and no negotiating/awkwardness!

    My Personal Conclusion:
Definitely recommend Tao for bottle service. They don't treat you like you are a nobody, and ensure that you have a good time
As to my experience with myy host and the 1 bottle scenario, I am hoping that it was just that one host who is a misfit in the Tao culture (am still p...d off with his approach to business)

Hope this helps! Am eager to know about your experiences

      Thats a good question.

Anyone who reads through the forum would know 1 bottle isnt gonna get you a prime location at any big club. Im actually a little surprised the OP is surprised, because I think hes an LV regular and was already familiar with bottle service.

Table location is always based on $$$ or who you know. $$$ is either in expendature or tip unless your connected.

This happens when you don't really know who you're working with or if it's not a strong referral. You should always clarify all the details before you're there. With two people you may need to do a handshake.

Even if you're new to BS or not, TAO is weird with tables anyway. They really can very (Opium Room, Main Room, Tao Beach, where they are upstairs, downstairs, next to stairs, tucked in a corner etc etc) unless you're specific about what you want, and with 1 bottle, you can't really decide that much. TAO is pretty large. Not many other clubs have restaurants attached to them afterall. I agree it's not surprising to have a terrible location with a very small minimum but it might surprise those who have never gone to TAO or had BS there that they are sitting on the restaurant level.

Nightclubs are preset based on spend. The more you spend the closer you get to the action. The more people you add, the more bottles you're required to buy. Nightclub tables are like the stock exchange. There is a set value on all of the tables, then as you get closer to opening, the prices go up and go down as demand changes. ultimately these clubs are a business and are here to make money. Just like if a lot of people are buying a stock, the price goes up. Sometimes you can get a table upstairs at tao for one bottle. Other nights (like the night you went) you need to buy at least 2 bottles.

Bad experience at Tao on a Thursday night a few months back - there was 8 of us (all lads) rolling at one the Cabana's near the walkway (one of the ones stocked with slightly chilled corona and red bull), for a friends bachelor party. We chose Tao over Tryst that night.

My first gripe was our server, the tattooed ridden beauty looked extremely miserable and basically like she was coming down of a bad trip.... The only time i got a half smile out her was when i made a joke about drugs.... enough said really.

I am not going to go into any great description about what she looks like in case people on here know her and after all i don’t want to get anyone in trouble!!!
I must have seen her 3 times that night, once to bring the bottles, once to bring the mixers and the third time she proceed to pour many many drinks at million miles an hour (in tiny cups) and force them onto us - as soon as she completed this task she was gone for the rest of the night.
                    1. I already had a drink in my other hand
                    2. At least have the courtesy to ask me what i would like!
                    3. Worth the 20% tip?? I supposed its just expected so good or bad service doesn’t come into it, right?

Anyways, I could live with that as we were having a great time and at one point the cabana was operating at full capacity with ladies... absolutely loving it!! One of the random women knocked the ice bowl on the floor... (and i suppose this could of been the start of it), as she tripped over her own feet - pretty hilarious! That got cleaned up and we continued to party until club was starting to empty out until all of a sudden the bouncer comes over and grabs one of my friends and drags him away. Now i know this person and he doesn’t have a bad bone in his body but can be a liability (suffered from depression, sometimes highly strung when wronged), so being concerned about his welfare i chase after them to establish what the problem was - i was them promptly shoved by anther group of security to the exit doors and was told that my group had to leave. No explanation or anything....

Later i was to find out that the bald headed bouncer had seen my friend pinch a ladies bottom as she walked past - naturally the girl apparently turned round and smiled and carried on her walk. End of story right? Wrong - the bouncer for some reason didn’t like this and said he was sexually harassing her!! Surely a complaint would have to be made for him to make that accusation??

Once we left I could only think he had a problem because we hadn’t tipped him for a few hours? I have him a 20 at the start and planned to give more but literally was having such a great time and couldn’t get out of our rammed booth/ cabana I didn’t get round to it. Im sure he would of turned a blind eye to anything had we been greasing him all night.

My friend who got dragged away didn’t get roughed up by Tao security and got away with "i am a faggot" written in his passport in big letters (yes, on his US entrance/ exit stamp page).

He didn’t actually find this out till the next day when were at Diablos and he took out his ID and just so happened to flick on to that page. Needless to say that provided hours of slide splitting amusement and made light of a pretty bad night at Tao.

                    Moral of the story -

                    1. Tip your Tao bouncer so you convert him into a decent human being.
                    2. Do not have more drunk girls in your cabana than you can handle
                    3. You need the ice bowl to cool yourself down as Tao is ridiculously hot even in spring

hahaha the belongs in the trip reports section!! So I hope your friends passport is expiring soon As far as breaking the ice with the waitress you should try to offer her a drink. 80% of the times they would be down to sneak a shot in. They might say no at first, then you gotta turn your game up. Most of the times its a waste of time to hit on them though. They are better used for future networking purposes especially at a Tier 1 club. Tier 2/3 you just might have a shot.. who knows.

Folks - thanks for the comments. Sorry been slow in responding.

Yep, I am a regular and I know that tables are a function of $$. In fact, even when we bought 2 bottles @ Tao, we were not in the main area, but in the Opium room. And that's OK

The point I was trying to make with my post is that Tao differs from other clubs in that they have a restaurant. I am ok with a bad table for 1 bottle, as long as its in the nightclub....but restaurant?! I could have gone to a 's lounge instead. Anyhow, that's all I wanted visitors to be aware of - that Tao has a reasturant and there is a chance there's where your table might be! Others have made this point already so I'll just leave it there....

We did have fun @ Tao though.

                            Later
