  • Another approach to "the list"

Something was a little curious to me. People talk about tables a lot which is certainly the way to get the best experience, but there is definitely equal discussion about how to avoid the regular line. Sure you can do tickets or 'tip' a host out, but there is not much or any mention of casino services role in all of it. I guess if your dropping enough in the casino by betting blacks or purples your probably arranging a table, but it seems a casino/vip services list would trump a lot else and certain hotels/suites open these services up to their guests without casino play but based on booking a "room."

I'm not sure what you're asking.. but if you don't have casino play, you're not on their VIP list.

Also nightclubs are usually run independently of the casino. For example, before I knew about JC I talked to the Encore concierge trying to book a table at Tryst and he said he couldn't do it, but gave me numbers of some hosts.

Yup, most clubs are run independently. They actually even pay rent to the casinos for leasing out the spots. So to get a casino VIP to get into the club, you'd have to be super high roller for them to consider getting you in. Ya drop $100K, there's a possibility the casino will fork out $1-2K for your table and drinks.

My next trip I'm gonna see if my casino host at Imperial Place can get me a comp bottle at XS.

I'm just saying it definitely happens and was wondering why its not discussed on this forum. Wynn actually is the majority owner in their clubs and other have tight control on what happens in their resorts. Casino hosts definitely have arranged tables for my friends at Wynn. If you show a 7 star card at any club in a Caesar's resort your in fast. I guess that at that level of play though most people are buying tables. I will say its rare for the casino to pick up the table cost, but they certainly set up their guests (I am talking about casino/VIP serives, Skylofts concierge, etc. NOT regular concierge).

Its true....I was thinking thats one of the reasons Wynn bought Victor out, because Victor wasnt giving his Whales enough preferential treatment.

well, yea.. no doubt if you're gambling you can get a table comped. you originally asked if stuff went down without any play just based on what room you got.

to that end, last I heard the Wynncore properties require an average of $200/hand 4hrs per day to get free rooms. Rooms run ~275 retail, so my guess is you'd need to do more than that to get a table comped.

I think you're right though.. at that point, you'll pick up a $800 tab no prob so that's probably you probably don't hear about it much.

xs has 20 or so tables set aside every night for wynn guests, this went into effect after MDW 09 when they hit fire marshal capacity and MR Wynn himself was told he had to wait. I was working at blush and was told the ropes all got pulled down and the whole staff was trying to block the door as 5000 angry people were trying to get in. Metro, wynn security and xs staff. After that they had to set a limit on how many reservations they could take and hence the "SOLD OUT" xs that we have all come to know. before that they would take 300 reservations a night.

I have a friend that is a big enough whale that he gets tables comped (at all MGM properties). In terms of getting comped - it's rooms --> food -- > shows --> spa --> clubs --> retail stores --> tips.

So yeah, it takes a lot but it does happen. You're basically treated like everyone else except the table location is good

The version I heard was that the crowd was blocking the espanade and Wynn was not pleased and he got into with Victor. That sounds more intense. It does seem that tables do go unfilled and they will open up more tables outside on busy nights.
