  • Vodka/Rye Brands- have you hear of...

I was just curious if anyone on this forum has heard of
Alberta Pure Vodka (Double Gold Medal Winner)
    Bamff Ice Vodka

    or

Alberta Premium Rye (5 or 30 year old- Canadian Whiskey of the year 5 years running- the 30 year old was a limited run, and is AMAZING)

I actually work at the distillery that makes the stuff up here in Canada, and wanted to see if it has made its way down to the US at all - (this is also one of the reasons I find it hard to spend $400 on a bottle of Vodka

    Drink up!

I tell ya what , I been drinking hard liquor for 14 years. It all taste like shit. The only difference I notice is the hangover affects are better with cleaner liquor.

LOL yup. I think most us drink to get drunk. But there are those Vodka, Tequila, etc aficionados who have a taste for the finer high end liquor. They can tell and can appreciate the difference with a $400 bottle of vodka.

I have tried the last 2 winner in new York and California.
Chase vodka fom England. Last year winner was nice neat. Made from potatoes but no point mixing. The winner in new York. Finlandia is fucking amazing and has now become my home and going out vodka of choice. It's made using water from glaciers. Vert smooth and no bad hangover

I've done more then my share of this-- now that I am somewhat older and wiser, I now drink to get a "Hard" buzz on, then hold it- I find i can drink more over the course of the night, and havent been hung over in years- (I still do my T-Rex impression once in awhile at about 3:30 am, but wake up fine!)

Also- those products I listed sell for about$20 a bottle up here- not sure what they would be in the U.S.

I was more curious as to if the brands were even recognized outside of Canada- drink what you like!

Here's the thing...with me being Ukrainian, if it ain't from the former Eastern Bloc, it ain't vodka/ But since I'm a rye guy, I'm a Canadian Club lover. If you can get it, Forty Creek may be the best rye in the game, and I'm normally a Crown Royal guy. For those of you coming out Halloween, I'm gonna bring some!!
            I'm on a horse.

I second the Forty Creek. Try their Double Barrel Select, or Confederation Oak, by far the best Whiskey if you can find it in the USA. I'm spoiled its brewed about 15min away from my house.
