My group is going to be in town in two weeks. We have been in talks with our hotel to have an open bar meet and greet event at the hotel bar. I'm now being told that there is a $500 "bartender fee" on top of the normal per head open bar cost. Is that normal? If so, why? The bartender would be working anway and we kno to tip even with an open bar. What gives?
